This is a personal AU of mine that also includes some headcanons for both of them. I would like to say that I'm also still somewhat sorting the time, so some things may be confusing.

Edgar was a lot more open as a kid before both deaths of his mother and sister. He became more reserved after that, causing him to push others away.
He is trans and has been since he was three. Due to his father being absent due to business trips, only his mother knew when she saw he was comfortable with anything masculine. He was taught to bind his chest but never knew why till he got older. His father eventually finds out but still sees him as his so. However, when they argue, he brings it up to win the argument.

In Luca's early life, he is known as Marco Sebastiano. Them and Edgar knew each other as kids but grew distant after a lie his father told him. Back in Italy, Marco becomes well known at 15 but uses the stage name Luca Balsa. When Alva’s death takes place, they forget all their memories prior to it. The only name brought up when questioning potential suspects is "Luca Balsa." They arrest them under that name.
Luca is non-binary in this AU. Prior to their memory loss, they realized they were in love with Edgar.
