Playtime Co. Toy Factory, Pennsylvania.
June 19th, 2005, 9:00 AM.Clara was having her cup of sweet tea as she was watching the local news. But most of the stories nowadays are all just bleak and pessimistic. She grew tired of the politics of journalism. Clara was a Woman who absolutely despised politics. One story after another was just the same thing. Government corruption, large-scale war, skyrocketing crime, all those sorts of things. But as She was enjoying her breakfast, she heard the doorbell ringing. As she went to have a look, She opens her mailbox to check for mail.
But what She got was something completely unexpected. Inside the mailbox was a mysterious letter written in blood red ink and a mysterious VHS tape. She puts on her glasses and starts reading the note. There were spelling errors, but it was still readable. Strangely enough, Clara felt compelled to go to wherever the letter wants her to go. All she knows is that She needs to find the flower.
So, She decides to drive up to the Playtime Co. toy factory, located twenty-five miles north of Pittsburgh. She had no idea what she was getting herself into, but she wanted answers. She searched around the main entrance, and She saw things that were... Strange.
Blood was splattered across multiple rooms, some of them covering various toys. The place also appeared dilapidated, as some pieces of the tile floor was breaking apart. Even the ceiling was not safe from the years of abandonment this factory had passed. But Clara continues investigating the factory and stumbles upon a green VHS tape. She grabbed it and inserted it into an appropriately colored VCR player. Another man began to speak, one She was familiar with.
"Hi, my name is Leith Pierre, and I'm the head of innovation at the Playtime Co. toy factory. If you're seeing this, then you're trespassing! Yeah, we play this little tape on loop whenever we close the factory for the day. So, trespasser, just to make you aware. While we pride ourselves primarily on our high-quality toys and excellent childcare, we also pride ourselves on our security."
"Like what?" Clara wondered.
"For example, this facility is full of hidden motion triggers which, once set off, will set off the emergency alarms and directly contact the authorities! And that's one of the more... Tamer aspects of our security system. No spoilers! So you've got my warning. It's not too late to turn around. I just hope that you're certain whatever you're doing is worth it."
Now what did he mean by that? She heard rumors that the toys were... Alive. She had to see for herself to know if the rumors are true. She searched around the entrance and finds the security room to her left. Once she continues onward, She was stopped by a color-coded keypad. With no alternative, Clara looked for hints on how to solve the code. But then She realizes that the trains at the gift shop may hold the code. She went back and looked at the color of the train, each car being a different color.
Green...
Pink...
Yellow...
Red...
Just by a stroke of luck, the door was opened. She had access to the security room, allowing her to equip a device known as the GrabPack. She watches the instructional video before she straps it onto her back and learns how the GrabPack functions and its many uses throughout the factory. Unfortunately, it only had one hand currently. She had to find another hand to continue onward. As She continues, Clara notices a glowing handprint above a door.
She launches the blue hand, and the scanner did its work. Once the scan was complete, the door finally opens, allowing Clara to enter the main wing area. But once She did, She was greeted to a giant statue of a familiar blue toy; Huggy Wuggy.
"Blimey..." Clara murmured.
To the left of the figure is another door protected by a GrabPack scanner. She launches the hand again, but this time the power cuts out. As the wire sparks back into the power room, She heard the sound of rustling keys. She looked around and notices the statue holding a key for the power room. She used her GrabPack to collect the key and head inside. Clara went inside to reconnect the wires and restore power. But once She did, the statue was gone. Now She was getting worried.
