" Thank you auntie, for helping me unpack and for the wonderful leverage you gave me on your son in the form of embarrassing childhood stories."

Ashers mom has been nothing but kind to me and I genuinely like her. She told me Ashers childhood story about his adoption and The case with Anna and her dad. I couldnt help but feel extremely bad for her and I know Asher must too.

" child I'm really happy for you two.. you both make a perfectly happy couple." She hugs me and I almost sob at how welcoming she is despite the situation they are in. " I'm glad he has amazing parents auntie, I can't wait to be a part of your family."

She breaks away from the hug and silences me with a hand gesture. " Oh nonsense. You are already a part of this family Trisha. You're always welcome here, no matter what." With that we hug eachother goodbye.
I was sitting on the bed scrolling through my instagram, when I see Asher looking defeated, I knew he had the difficult conversation with his dad. I quickly got up and pulled him into a hug.

"Trish.." I stopped him. " I know Asher, your mom was kind enough to tell me the truth."

I held Asher through the night after patting him to sleep. Tomorrow would be a better day. A fresh start. No more lies.

The week we stayed with Ashers parents was amazing, they were warm and welcoming and honestly, they were freaking amazing. They were more Indian than my parents, they accepted my culture and not once did they Shame me for doing things a certain way. Like eating biriyani with my hands. Infact they joined in on it. So the one who was surprised was me.

Today Ashers mom was going to be baking for us and from what I've heard from his dad, her desserts are exquisite. And since I can't say no to anything chocolate, I was going to have the time of my life.

After a shower I got dressed and headed straight down to the living room where Asher and his dad were laughing and having a chat about something with a cup of tea in their hands.

As I walked down the stairs, " good morning Trisha."
Came uncles greeting and I returned it with a polite smile. Then came Asher, he scooped me into a hug before giving me a family appropriate kiss and wishing me good morning in a way that made me blush.

As I began to take my seat on the couch in the living room, there was a knock at the door.
