As we walk through the park all I can think about is her: the way she laughs, the way she smiles, the way she walks with so much confidence, the way her mysterious grey eyes complement her olive skin, the softness of her hand clasped around mine. This day could not get more perfect. The twisty path is lined with her favourite flowers. Plumeria. I pick one and slip it into her long, curly, chestnut hair. She smiles - the most beautiful smile in the world - as we carry on walking towards the end of the footpath. The sun shines down on her as she turns to face me. The end of the path in sight, we both slow down, wanting this moment to last forever. The tall birch trees line the last couple of meters of the path, like guards, as we finally reach the end. As I walk her home, we talk about how we should do things like this more often. We turn the corner of her road, trying to cherish every second. We finally reach her front gate and neither of us want to say goodbye.

"Don't worry, Jack, we'll see each other tomorrow."

"With disturbance from Lucy."

"Are you ever going to forget about her?"

"I'll try. She makes every excuse just to be with me."

"She can't take a hint, can she?"

"I do tell her over and over again that we are done. Anyway, I should probably get back and revise for the test. Are you okay on your own?"

"Yeah. Scott will be back soon. Are you going to come over before school to revise with me?"

"Sure."

"I'll see you tomorrow then?"

"Of course."

We stare into each other's eyes, each moment as captivating as the next. I lean towards her. She leans towards me. The next thing I know, her lips are on mine, so gentle. People walk past and some stand and stare. Even when we break apart, I know I will always be with her.

"I love you, Jack."

"I love you, Elli."

She turns around, walking through her jungle of a front yard, just as interesting as her. I look down the street and start to walk. My house is much smaller than hers, although it is on the same road. I unlock the front door and walk up the steep carpeted stairs, grinning like the Cheshire cat. Elli makes me so happy. She helps me live every day with a smile. I fall asleep every night smiling. Life is good with Elli.
