7. the blonde - park gunwook

blondes, some of the most gorgeous people on earth according to men. natural or dyed, they're always the prettiest. aren't they?
me on the other hand? not a blonde. not at all. it's a really pretty hair color, but i don't find it that amusing. i do admit it suits people quite well though.
oh! let me introduce myself! i'm y/n, i go to hs/n and i'm currently a senior here! i'm not that of a popular person but quite a few people know me. i like to be kind and helpful and i try to never disappoint anyone.

currently, i'm walking around the hallways with my best friend, gunwook. he's waaaaay more popular than me, he's got the smarts, the looks, the fashion, everything. so you could guess he's especially popular within the ladies. surprisingly though, he never really has gotten into a relationship before, but currently here he is telling me about his crush. it stings my heart a little bit. i could never admit it but i have a crush on him. silly me, huh?

anyways, back to his crush, she's in our grade and as he told me, we both share a few classes with her. i'm very curious who she is but he wouldn't even tell me her name. all i know about her is that she has blonde hair. how ironic.
this hint could literally never make me guess who it is, i have so many blondes in each of my classes!

other than her haircolor, gunwook has told me about her personality. he says she is a very open-minded person. literally unguessable.

"and she- hey are you even listening?" he asked, interrupting my thoughts.
"oh yeah! continue!" i gave him a slight grin and he immediately started talking again.
to be honest, i really can't focus to what he says, i'm too busy trying to figure out who he's talking about.

"blonde and open-minded? that could literally be anyone." i scoff to myself, trying to draw my attention back to what he's saying but i can't seem to.

as we continue going i bump into someone. i look at the person, it's a blonde girl. could it be...? nah, no way. as i'm about to apologize i can hear gunwook scolding me. the fuck?

"y/n stop being so ignorant! you need to watch where you're going!" i'm confused as to why his personality suddenly took a whole 180° but i start apologizing to the girl immediately, obviously feeling bad about what happened even if it was the tiniest accident ever.

she tells me it's okay and i give her a small nod then walk away from her and gunwook immediately, letting them do whatever.
what if this is really the girl he likes? but i can't blame her, she seems so sweet.
i head to class and sit down, thinking about what just happened. can one person really have this much affect on someone just by their existence? crazy.

as i am so lost in my thoughts, i feel somebody sit next to me, probably gunwook, but to my surprise, no. it's his friend gyuvin.
gyuvin is a nice guy, he somehow figured out my feelings towards gunwook, not sure how since it really isn't obvious, but i can't blame him afterall.

we start a conversation, he's consoling to talk to, to be honest. "how come you came to sit here? i thought you're sitting with ricky" i ask him. "he's absent today, plus you seemed down, so i thought i'd give you some company" he replies. i smile at him, how sweet. we get so lost in conversation we don't even notice gunwook standing infront of us.

"y/n? i thought we're sitting together" he gives me a pout. if i could, i'd melt right away, but i keep my cool. "sorry wook, i'm sitting with gyuvin today, why don't you go sit with that girl instead today?" i tell him, he seems a bit sad at my response, i find it weird. i thought he'd enjoy the idea. i do feel a slight amount of guilt for sending him away like that, but he scolded me earlier, plus i'm not going to send gyuvin away.
i continue my conversation with gyu, leaning in to whisper to him about what happened just minutes earlier. i chuckle at the way he reacts to some of my words, this guy is really into gossiping, if i can even call it that.
