"Kira!"
I faintly heard her voice coming from behind me. It sounded like she was running towards me. I ignored her, focusing more on what was important in that one moment.
"Kira, please! Listen to me!"
She'd just stopped a few paces behind me, sounding distressed and out of breath. I scoffed, rolling my eyes.
Without turning around, I replied bitterly, "What do you want?"
Silence. Then-
"You know what I want," came her reply.
I smirked. "I'm not sure I follow."
"Come on Kira, this is madness and you know it. This has to stop."
She sounded exasperated. As if she had any right to be.
"So what if it is?" I said slowly. "What if it's madness? If I want to do it, I will."
"You've already caused enough trouble as it is," she replied. "Now you wanna go and do something like this? I know she's not been nice to you, which I do hate her for. But this? This is too far."
"That's because you don't even know half of what she's done to me," I spat back at her, resentment clear in my tone of voice. "She deserves whatever's coming for her."
"Kira..."
There was something different in the way she spoke. It was softer, gentler. It was the voice I hated. The one she normally used when she was trying to make it seem like she understood me. I almost laughed out loud at that thought. Understand me? No one can understand me.
I rolled my eyes again. "Just go away if you're not gonna help me," I said before she could continue.
I started walking slowly forwards, when she spoke again.
"Kira, don't!"
I stop in my tracks. God, she was always so annoying. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in, before finally turning around to face her. My sister.
"Listen here," I hissed. "Unless you're here to help me in some way, you'd better leave now. Unless you wanna die too."
She shook her head in disbelief. "You wouldn't..."
I grinned ever so slightly. "You get in my way, and I might."
It seemed she was rendered speechless. Good. It was better for me if she wasn't speaking. That way I could focus on the real task at hand, rather than having to listen to her annoying voice. Satisfied by the silence, I continued walking towards the house in front of me. It was a huge, fully white mansion. A stupid house for a stupid brat to live in. Perfect match.
Speaking of matches, I took out the big matchstick that I had in my pocket, and lit it with my lighter. I stopped walking just a few paces away from the house, close enough but not so close so that I would be just about safe. I gave the house a good look, seeing liquid pouring down the sides from the roof. I stood there, proud of myself for getting this far. It had been hard work trying to get the tank of gasoline, and myself, up onto the roof, but it was worth it. I turned around to see her still staring, clearly lost for words. Seemed like she finally realised she couldn't talk me out of this.
I turned my attention back to the house. I gave it one last look, before finally launching the lit matchstick at it, using all my force and energy to make sure it landed where it was meant to. Stepping back a little, I watched as the top of the house erupted in flames, slowly spreading down until it engulfed the entire house. I watched as the flames flickered, as if they were dancing, celebrating what I had just done. Proud of my achievement, I smirked, and whispered underneath my breath.
"Have a nice fucking time in hell, bitch."
