Birthday present

Kim Jennie x G!P Y/N

Jennie and Y/N had been in a relationship for three beautiful months. Jennie was a diligent student, balancing her studies and relationship, while Y/N was a talented freelance painter whose creative projects often stretched late into the night. Today was a special day: Y/N's birthday.

Jennie, determined to make it memorable, decided to surprise Y/N by decorating their living room with colorful balloons and a delicious cake. She spent the afternoon meticulously setting everything up, her excitement growing with each passing minute. Y/N had texted her earlier, promising to be home by 7 pm for a special birthday dinner date. Jennie's heart swelled with happiness, imagining Y/N's delighted reaction.

As 7 pm approached, Jennie sat on the couch, eagerly waiting. She kept glancing at the clock, her anticipation mounting. However, 7 pm came and went, and there was still no sign of Y/N. Jennie's excitement began to wane, replaced by a creeping sense of worry. By 8 pm, Jennie's worry had turned into frustration. She dialed Y/N's number several times, but each call went unanswered.

Jennie's mind raced with a mix of emotions. She was worried something might have happened to Y/N, but she was also mad that Y/N hadn't called or texted to explain the delay. Hours passed, and Jennie found herself growing more anxious, tense, and increasingly hungry. By 11 pm, she could no longer bear the waiting. Feeling a mix of anger and disappointment, Jennie retreated to her room and locked the door, her carefully planned surprise now feeling like a cruel joke.

Jennie's POV

I lay in bed, feeling a swirl of emotions as I heard the front door open and close. I knew it was Y/N. I immediately closed my eyes tightly, pretending to be asleep. My bedroom door creaked open, and I could hear Y/N's footsteps as she walked in, placing her coat on the chair nearby. My heart ached with a mix of anger and relief.

Y/N walked around the bed to my side. I could sense her presence beside me, feel her weight on the mattress as she sat down gently. My heart pounded in my chest, but I kept my eyes shut, not ready to face her just yet.

Then, I felt it-Y/N's cold hand brushing against my cheek and hair. The touch sent a shiver down my spine, making it hard to maintain my act. Y/N had always had this effect on me; one touch from her and I was like a melting ice cube.

I sensed her leaning in closer, and then her lips met mine in a soft, tender kiss. My heart raced, betraying my attempt at feigning sleep. Y/N's kiss was gentle, as if she didn't want to wake me. When she pulled away, she rubbed my cheek softly, her touch lingering.

Thank you, Jennie

Y/N whispered, her voice filled with sincerity and regret.

Thank you for doing all the decorations and the cake. I'm so sorry for being this late.

I could feel the warmth of her breath and the sincerity in her voice. It was hard to stay mad, but I kept my eyes closed, unsure how to respond without breaking my façade.

Y/N sat there for a moment longer, her fingers gently stroking my hair. My resolve wavered, torn between wanting to stay angry and wanting to comfort her. Finally, I decided to let my emotions show, my eyes fluttering open to meet her gaze.

I was really worried, Y/N.

I said softly, my voice betraying the hurt and frustration I felt.

And mad. You didn't call or text. I thought something happened to you.

Y/N looked at me with remorse, her eyes filled with regret.
