Part 6 : Matt Choking

The triplets went out for lunch with their best friend Nate. They tried out this new restaurant thats in town because they heard good reviews. They sat down and ordered some food. Nate got pizza, Chris got chicken tenders, Nick got buffalo wings and matt got a fruit salad. It all sounded really good.

Their food came and they began to eat. They all enjoyed their food but things were going to change, fast.
Matt was eating his salad but then he couldn't breathe. He stood up panicked and Chris, Nick and Nate looked at him, clearly worried.

Matt started signalling that he couldn't breathe. Nick was the first to realise, he called for a waiter.

"HELP, MY BROTHER IS CHOKING, HE CAN'T BREATHE!"

Nick roughly knew how to do the heimlich but he didn't want to make things worse for Matt.

Then a very nice and alert server ran to Matt and preformed the heimlich manoeuvre. Matt started coughing as soon as the kind waiter started knocking on his back and squeezing his stomach. Matt soon spat the grape out that was lodged in his throat.

Matt hugged the waiter that saved his life and thanked him dearly. Matt sat down and refused to eat his food. He was terrified.

"Im going to the car, im to embarrassed to sit here" Matt told Nick, Chris and Nate and then walked out to his car.

He sat inside the car and started crying. He was so scared of that happening again. He refused to eat. He told himself that.

Soon after the others came to the car and sat inside. Chris noticed Matt's wet eyelashes and glossy eyes and said.

"Matt, step outside with me for a minute, you guys wait here" Chris said and giving Nick 'that' look. It basically told Nick everything.

Chris and Matt were outside, out of sight of Nick and Nate.

"Matt" Chris said looking at his distraught brother. He opened his arms so he could hug Matt. Matt brokw down in tears.

"I'm scared to eat now, that was so s-scary" Matt cried into Chris' shoulder. Chris comforted Matt.

(Meanwhile with Nick and Nate.)

"Whats going on? Why did Chris take Matt out of the car, why did give you such a weird look? I don't understand?" Nate said really confused by everything.

"Chris took Matt out because he had been crying, it was clear by the tear stains on his face and also Chris gave me 'that' look to tell me he was going to take Matt on the walk" Nick explained it to Nate the easiest way possible to understand.

Chris and Matt were coming back. Chris got in first in the car and quickly said.

"Lay of the jokes today both of you, Matt is doing really rough and he is very stressed." Chris said just before Matt entered the car.

The drove of in absolute silence back to the house, Matt had beads of sweat roll down his forehead as they pulled into the driveway.

They went inside and Matt went straight to his room and slammed the door closed. Marylou asked the others what happened to him.

"He choked in the restaurant and he was really embarrassed by it and refused to eat the rest of his meal" Nate said. Marylou knocks on Matt's door and when she go Matt's approval to enter, she did.

Some time passed and then Marylou and Matt left the room. Matt had very puffy and red eyes and bad tear stains in the corner of his eyes. Matt sits in between Nick and Chris on the couch. Matt looks at Chris and leans on him and puts his arm around Chris and hugs him tight.

Chris was shocked but loved it and hugged Matt back. Soon, Matt fell asleep from exhaustion from all the crying.

Later, they all were hungry, except Matt, so Nick asked.

"Do you guys want takeout??"

Nate said he did, so did Chris but Matt immediately said.

"No, i don't want to eat, no, I'll just end up choking again, no" He was fully denying eating, but he needed it to survive.

"Matt, you have to eat, you can't starve yourself because you are scared of choking. Mum knows the heimlich so you will be alright." Chris said trying to comfort and convince Matt.

"fine" Matt said then walked of into his room.

Well that went well, not. They decided on McDonald's for dinner. Nate got up to go ask Matt what he wanted.

*knock knock* "come in" Matt muttered and Nate walked in.

"What do you want from McDonald's, Nick is ordering right now." He asked looking over at what Matt was doing.

"6 piece and small fry, root beer?" Matt said now making eye contact with Nate.

He nodded and walked oht of Matt's room to the others. He told Nick what Matt wanted and they ordered it.

The food arrived and everyone sat down together to eat. Matt was hesitant at first but ended up eating his whole meal with no problem at all. Marylou looked at Matt, very proud.

From that day on, Matt was always more cautious of how he was eating but soon got over that habit and he went back to normal.
