Sounded the glasses as Jisung cheered with the members of his organization present at the gala.
"Who could believe us when we'd say that we made it into the Crimson Gala," Hyunjin, Jisung's friend and colleague, remarked while scanning the opulent decorations of the event. If he'd been honest, he never had the money to even see this side of the world.
His eyes hovered over the chandelier and the various banners hanging along the walls.
One banner prominently featured Yoon Jeonghan, head of the SVT organization. Jisung's eyes narrowed at the sight as Hyunjin placed an arm over his shoulder.
"You're glaring. If you do things like this, you're going to blow our cover," he reminded, his grip firm on Jisung's shoulder.
"Tch, what can I do, Jinnie? Seeing this man's face disgusts me," Jisung muttered, his anger evident in every word. But the problem was, Jisung didn't only feel rage...no.
It was so much more than that; wrath. Anger that could kill a crowd of people in the hands of Han Jisung was merely the cherry on top. This game he was about to play required meticulous planning and time. But he didn't have time.
His superiors were far more ruthless, and Jisung, despite everything, was an ordinary spy and policeman who felt emotions. If anything, he was quite a normal human being.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean you should stare at him. We have a mission to carry out!" Hyunjin whispered, though it almost sounded like a scolding.
"Hmm, a mission? Are you plotting something against me, Mr. Han and Mr. Hwang?" The voice interrupted. Yoon Jeonghan. The two boys turned to face the man, who exuded wealth with his long flowing hair, sheer black tank top, and white fur coat.
Jisung's eyes locked onto Jeonghan as Hyunjin quickly shook his head. "Hahaha, what are you talking about, Mr. Yoon? How could we ever?" he joked, and Jeonghan simply nodded in return.
"I have many enemies, so I must keep them in check. Besides, you're new to our foundation and came through recommendations, so I must always be vigilant, no?" Jeonghan's question felt more like a warning. Jisung's blood boiled, his fingers clenching into fists as he stared at the two conversing.
He knew the plan would take place a few hours into the gala, so he needed to bide his time. Excusing himself, he headed to get more wine, the drink being the only thing keeping him sane at the moment.
As he went to fill his glass, someone else's hand reached for the same one. "Oh, I'm sorry," he quickly apologized, not looking up as he withdrew his hand.
