macy's pov:

hey! my name is macy-rose alderwood, but a significant amount of people just call me mace, mainly the people closest to me. i am 21 years young, many people say the best age due to it symbolises the transition of adulthood, a time of personal growth, newfound responsibilities, and legal rights. how ever i don't believe that, mainly because i am 21 and have no authority, liability or accountability whatsoever, many people think im just a whole lot of fun tho! i grew up in melbourne, meaning my whole childhood was living the dream. melbourne being named one of the most livable cities, and ranked second in the economist intelligence unit's 2023 global liveability index, missing out top spot by just 0.7%, which i think is heaps good. melbourne had provided me everything i need, from growing up being the little girl in the streets that's always causing problems, whilst my childhood bestfriend, steph catley, grew up living her dream. me and steph met through our families, whilst living on the same street our mothers became incredibly close causing us to do the same. having sleepovers every night, which would usually exist of me begging steph to stay up all night, sneak down stairs to get midnight snacks, get up to some mischieve, whilst all steph wanted to was play football, train, sleep to be energised enough for football. it's something i now truly admire about her, not back in the day, back then i would just think she was boring. now i realise how passionate she was about the sport she loved, which definitely paid off.we both now live together in north london where she plays for arsenal, which i found funny as she's always been a massive liverpool fan, im talking whole bedroom covered in posters of her favourite player steven gerrard. she also captained the international team, making me ever so proud. i however couldn't have been more of the opposite, i grew up to be an executive chef, which i love. i have always loved cooking so i just knew that my job had to be something revolving it, when you're job is doing something you love i don't see no work put into it. being a chef is wonderful, you have the opportunity to great new dishes, experiment with unique ingredients , you can be as creative as your heart desires to be, and you make people happy all at the same time. at first she moved away to england and i couldn't even manage a week without her, it was like torture staying in my family home without steph living on the same street, so when i got the job opportunity to live in england i just couldn't refuse.i have my other bestfriend, of course she isn't as dear to me as steph is but nobody is, not even close, her name is mia solace, i msg her through work and we instantly bonded, actually our first conversation strikes up because we rocked up to work with the same shoes, nike low black dunks, and just like that, we were besties, we see each other pretty much all the time as we work similar shifts, we always meet from brunch before every shift(if it's not a morning shift) i love her, she really makes work less boring.i am as single as single can be, ive only ever had one relationship which was with a man, his name was otis, don't get me wrong otis was a lovely man, but we soon came to the understanding that it just wasn't meant to be, we never had a special connection, which i later on seemed to come to the realisation that i wasn't really into men at all, everyone was understanding of it, now me and otis are friends right to this day, we even meet up for brunch most weeks. i suffer from a condition called menorrhagia, i was diagnosed when i was 13 and had gotten my first period. for anyone who doesn't know what menorrhagia is in the medical term, it is generally just when one's period is heavier that usual. during a normal menstrual cycle, the average women loses about 1 ounce of blood and changes her sanitary products around 3 to 5 times per day. with menorrhagia, menstrual flows lasts longer and heavier than normal. the bleeding occurs at regular intervals (during periods), but may last more than 7 days, and menstrual flow soaks more than 5 sanitary products per day or requires product change during the night. clot formation is common. menorrhagia is often accompanied by dysmenorrhea because passing large clots can cause painful cramping, and i am not good with pain, truthfully i am a very emotional person.

anyways, let's get into the story.

authors note:

and we're finally getting into story, i just want to say again that please remember that this is just a story! and the menorrhagia is based off that it is actually something i suffer with so i thought adding it to this story would be fun asset, sorry for anyone who may find it disturbing in anyway but i will put out an disclaimer when they're may be somd groosum parts in the story, hope you enjoy my lovely's ❤️
