Chapter 24
"Asúl, come on. Let me see you," Ryzel nudged his boyfriend in the gentlest way possible, said boyfriend was nuzzled on Ryzel's side, his arms wound tight around Ryzel, never letting go. Edward and the nurses checked Ryzel's vitals, with Blue clinging to Ryzel through it all. Ryzel just smiled and stroked Blue's head who was melting at the warm touch.
"How's your head? Painful?" Edward asked and sighed in relief when Ryzel shook his head. "The painkiller is still in effect; if you feel something out of the ordinary," Blue twitched when he heard that, but calmed down when Ryzel rubbed his back, "do not hesitate to call me. We are closely monitoring your condition. Congrats, by the way. Let's celebrate when you get discharged," Edward added with a grin and Ryzel was beyond grateful.
"Thank you so much, Eddie. Thank you," Ryzel emphasized, his voice thick with emotion. Edward has been with Ryzel since day one and has been with him as he struggled with his disease and the accompanying depression. Edward saw Ryzel plunge to the depths of darkness and stayed with the man, because that's what friends are for. Best friends.
Edward is one of Trevor's friends, and became one of his rocks as he battled his disease. He couldn't ask for a greater older brother figure. When Edward left, Ryzel breathed in. "Asúl, care for another story? Do you want to know what happened after I ran away from you?"
Blue stilled and his arms loosened Ryzel. He slowly sat up, his hands wrapped around Ryzel's warm ones. When Ryzel saw Blue's red and puffy eyes, he cooed. "My poor Asúl. I'm so sorry for worrying you."
Blue nodded and swallowed hard, bringing Ryzel's hands to cup his cheeks, feeling Ryzel's heat. "I thought that seeing you get kidnapped by that fucker was the scariest moment of my life; apparently, I was wrong. Because when it comes to you, I get incredibly affected. I thought I was going to lose you," Blue said in a broken voice, causing Ryzel's eyes to get glossy from unshed tears.
"I didn't care if you forget me; I'll cross the bridge when I get there. I just want you alive, baby. I can't function in a world without you in it," Blue finally broke down and Blue's sobs were very hard for Ryzel to witness. It was making his heart cry in pain. It arouses every protective layer in his body, along with the silent promise that he will never hurt the man in front of him ever again, whether or not it was intentional.
With a ragged breathing, Ryzel pulled Blue closer, kissing the man's tears away. Ryzel pressed his lips on Blue's forehead, pecked his nose, kissed his cheeks, trailing I love yous while Ryzel was at it, making Blue overcome with emotions. When he finally dropped a kiss on Blue's lips, it was only a soft press. It was a chaste touch of the lips, the movement slow, affectionate and full of care.
"You are my world, Asúl. Don't you ever forget that," Ryzel whispered through the kiss and nipped Blue's lower lip, with Blue parting his mouth to let Ryzel in. The kiss was not sexual but rather, loving. They just felt each other, loving the way the sparks crackle from their lips savoring each other. When they pulled apart, Blue was no longer crying.
Blue stared at Ryzel, still in disbelief that the love of his life is smiling at him so softly. "I would go through all of it."
Ryzel blinked. "Go through what?"
"I would go through all of the pain over and over if it means I get to have you at the end; if it means I could be part of your life, and you, of mine," Blue confessed and Ryzel melted, a lone tear falling from his eyes.
