Johnny's pov:

Three months in and yet these cadets are just as useless as when they first got here. Except that Larusso. He seems to be the only cadet that can get a grip.

"Cadets fall in line! " I shouted as they all rushed in front of me. Larusso seems to have his gear done correctly unlike the first time he presented to me, his shoes were untied.

"Now. You. " I said pointing at Bobby. His chest rose in nervousness.

"Show me how fast you can finish this course." I said pointing at the training field where they have to learn to crawl under the line. As well as many other things they need to know.

Hours later only two cadets managed to impress me the others did it in 10 minutes.
Bobby and Daniel did it in less than 6.

"You two. " I said pointing at the two cadets. "Go rest tomorrow I want you both to show these... Maggots to learn, HOW TO MOVE FASTER. " I said shouting the last bit so the rest of the squad can hear.

"Yes Sargent! " they said in unison.

After a few more hours it was time to eat. I noticed Daniel and Bobby sitting together so I started towards them. They quickly went to stand up to salute but I quickly stopped them.

"At ease. Can I join the two of you? It seems the other rankings officers forgot that I sit where they are right now. " the two nodded and I sat down besides Daniel.

"So... How did you become Sargent...? " Daniel asked as I looked at him.

"I just- I just mean you seem young around my age and-" I quickly cut him off.

"I used to do soccer, but once I hit collage I found it hard to fit in. You see when these two ranking officers, came to my collage and spoke about what their roles and it seemed interesting. Well after class I decided to speak more to them... It's been about... 2 years since I joined? Over time I started to become more skilled... Aside from that, larusso. " he quickly jumped.

"What about you? Are you in collage? " I asked.

"Actually yes... Next year would've actually been my graduation year if I wouldn't have drop out. " he said as I nodded and stated it would've be mine as well.
