Chapter 6: Rimuru's visit

A few days have passed since I had met Guy a week before the festival, and today, tomorrow's that highly anticipated date. After dealing with a few important documents on my desk, I bid farewell to my subordinates, Shion crying and making a small tantrum at my short leave.

   “Rimuru-sama!! Don't leave us..!!”

I assured her and everyone else that it's only a short trip to Ingrassia and that I'll be back in no time.

And with that, I used my skill ‘spacial transportation’ to teleport right where I need to in an instant.

Specifically, Yuuki's office inside the Guild building.

Vibrations of footsteps approached the office, growing closer as the door creaked open, coming in was Yuuki who didn't seem to notice my presence at his office.

   “Ya-hoo, Yuuki.”
   “AGHH!!”

Yuuki shrieked, startled, composing himself as he processed my unexpected company in his office.

“I was told you'd send a guide to the Founder's Festival. I didn't expect it'd be you yourself however, Rimuru.” He sighed, placing the documents he was holding on his desk.
“Hey, this was the most convenient way, y'know?”

It really was the most convenient way, I don’t really have anyone I know who I could trust for this task.

   “So you're attending or not?”
“What do you expect of me, Rimuru? Of course I'm going.”

“Why else do you think I’d drown myself in work for this specific occasion?” He said in a sarcastically spoken tone.

So he is coming then. At least I cleared up that much.

“But who's gonna manage the guild in your place?”
“I'll leave all the other responsibilities to the vice-master for the next three days.”

“Vice master?” I quietly mumbled, the slight confusion felt quite embarrassing. Of course, I knew there was a vice-master, that position is a crucial part in staff for quite the famed organization like the Guild. I guess I just never got the chance to meet that person while I was here in Ingrassia the last time.

Glancing at the door as I heard the footsteps of heavy yet lightweight heels approach the office as it opened carefully, a beautiful female elf in formal attire came in. Luscious blonde hair styled in bun braids with the half part of her bangs covering her face. She was carrying a tray of what smelled like freshly brewed black coffee.

She's pretty, I'll say that much. Also her whole outfit is giving secretary vibes, is she Yuuki's secretary perchance?

“I'm glad to see you again, Sir Rimuru. Perhaps we never got the chance to speak but I'm Kagali. Vice-master of the Guild, I run the Exploration Division.” She introduced herself with a polite smile, her voice echoed soft yet mature.

Oh, so she's the Vice-master.

“Ah, nice to meet you too. I thought you were Yuuki's secretary for a second, so excuse me for my misinterpretation.” I chuckled a little,
“Though I do the duties of a secretary to help the Grandmaster while I'm here, my main job is to explore ancient ruins.” She confirmed, remaining still as she stood firmly with a calm facade.

So… she's half secretary, half vice-master? But exploring ruins.. that's quite the enticing job, she does look like she loves it with the way she speaks about it.

“Sounds like quite the job, ruins holds many histories and mysteries.”

If I remember correctly, Hakuro told me of these old ruins he found back in Clayman's territory that now all belongs to Milim. And speaking of, that girl told me yesterday she was willing to explore it with me. Others can join in if I wanted to, wasn't planning that originally, but maybe it'd be a great opportunity for them if I bring them along as well. I mean, the more the merrier, right?
