Author's POV:
Everyone was soundly asleep. They all had various hopes, praying for peace and happiness. Nobody anticipated the surprise life would bring them. Zia particularly wanted to escape from responsibilities and chores.
The morning was lovely. Everyone got up early and rushed through their daily chores. It was a bustling atmosphere. The ringing of someone's phone continued, but nobody was listening. Hearing the loud ringtone, Ishaan entered the room. Reaching over, he quickly looked at the early caller before answering. When Ishaan saw his grandfather's name on the screen, he recognized the caller. A broad smile sprang on his face. He answered the phone and struck up a conversation. A background voice interrupted him while he was on the phone. His grandma asked him to hand over the phone to her daughter-in-law after we had finished chatting. "Dadi, why are you in such a hurry? would you not like to speak with me today?" he inquired abruptly.
Dadi answered, "It's not that, Ishu, and I do like our conversations, but I need to talk to your mother about something important. Could you hand it to her? He started walking towards the kitchen, where his mother was. She was getting everyone's breakfast ready. Telling her it was Dadi calling, he handed her the phone. They were secretly discussing something when she noticed Ishaan standing there. With a questioning expression on her face, she looked at him. Ishaan got the hint to depart because he understood what she meant. She was determined not to let him hear what they were talking about.
After Ishaan left, Zunaira, Zia's mother, questioned her mother-in-law about the topic they had been talking about. Her mother-in-law told her that her friend had some Rishta for Zia. The boy's family was related to her distantly, according to her pal. When she inquired about our plans for Zia, I told my friend that I needed to talk to my son and daughter-in-law about the situation. "We didn't plan on marrying her right away because we gave her time," Zunaira remarked. "But since you mentioned that your friend told us about the family being nice and also living overseas, we can talk about it after we see him." Zunaira urged her mother-in-law to speak with her friend and get biodata and photos. Her mother-in-law responded that she could discuss this directly with Shahana (her friend), as she had her contact information. Zunaira agreed to speak with Shahana Aunty directly.
She called everyone for breakfast when she had finished the call. After eating breakfast, everyone started heading to their jobs. She decided to call Shahana Aunty once she had finished cleaning the house. After their conversation, she asked for details about the boy's family, biodata, and photo. After some time, she received the details. She discovered the photo she had gotten while looking through the biodata. The boy appeared rather young, so when she saw the picture, she was astonished. He seemed to be only twenty years old. For a moment, she was lost in thought and considered calling Shahana Aunty to find out if she believed Zia was 18 or 19. Then it dawned on her that she had the biodata, which had to have included his age. She began looking for it, and when she found it, she felt relieved.
Meeting someone who is both young and attractive poses a challenge due to societal expectations and personal preferences. She knew the difficulties she encountered while looking for a match for her sister. The only men she encountered were older ones. She grinned contentedly as she read about the attractive man's profession and pay. Though you can't trust someone based just on their biodata and photos, it seemed like a really good fit for her child, therefore, she needed to find out more. People send their best, and they frequently exaggerate about things. She considered talking about it with her husband.
Zia's father, Azeem, returned at noon and began searching for his wife. This was odd because she used to come to greet him as soon as he returned and ask him what to cook. When he came inside, he noticed her wife was deeply absorbed in scrolling through her phone. He inquired, "Zuni, what are you so busy with that you didn't even realize that I came back?" However, he received no response. His spouse was still absorbed in scrolling.
He approached her, standing in front and blocking the phone's screen with his hands. Upon glancing at him, his spouse realized she had failed to acknowledge him. "Zia's papa," she inquired, removing her earbuds. "When did you come back?" He said that she was too preoccupied with her phone to notice that he had been back for a while. "Oh, I was busy looking at the details about a boy for Zia's marriage," she grinned as she stood up. "How come you are talking about her marriage when all you said to do was wait for her?" he inquired. In response, she said that Shahana Aunty had bought her daughter some nice Rishta.
She mentioned that the man is well-presented, manages his own business, earns well, and comes from a reputable family living abroad. He became interested in it as well, listening to his wife gush about the guy since not many people can win his wife's admiration. She either finds the men older or the family problematic. Due to her experience watching her sisters struggle after marriage, she has certain expectations for Zia's future family. She endured financial struggles and familial conflicts after marrying him, which shaped her perspective on relationships and influenced her approach to her daughter's future. She wished for her daughter to lead a peaceful life.
