3rd Person Pov:

"I'm sorry my prince but what did you just say?"

These were the first thing that escaped the General's lips, as everyone gazed upon the young prince with shocked looks on their faces. Walter's eyes went wide, the ambassador's jaw dropped and the chancellor himself is speechless while the spymaster smirked to himself. Raine stood there confidently with a determined look on his face.

"I said, I will do it. I will carry on the mission myself." He repeated with a serious tone on his voice as his eyes locked upon the General's surprised ones.

"Please reconsider your decisions, Raine." The chancellor declared with a firm voice, his eyes also locking at the young prince. Raine's eyes furrowed, knowing that the chancellor calling him by his name meant that he's beyond serious now.

"This is a dangerous situation to be in, Raine. Doing this will risk your safety." He explained with a mixture of concern and stern expression on his face. "Besides, it's been long since you've taken missions before Zayn-"

"Are you questioning my power and capability!?" Raine immediately retorted out, his voice sharp as he jumped to conclusions. The room is surrounded by an intense silence, with Raine staying firm and tension slowly rising among the council. The chancellor was about to clarify before the royal advisor came to his defense.

"He's only looking out for your safety, your Highness." She explained while giving the chancellor a quick stern look before turning back with her eyes gleaming with a bothered look. "The person responsible for all of this might be more than we anticipated, considering how...they made our subjects disappear without a trace. Especially the high ranking once."

"Oh come on, he is a crowned prince. He can handle a mission without any complications." The spymaster commented, which earned a glare from the ambassador.

"But he's still young!" She protested.

The spymaster scoffed, crossing his arms. "And so? Zayn's been busy with the army and now it's his time to do his duties."

"I am not letting this treason speak!" She exclaimed with a harsh tone. "Raine spent almost his whole time inside the palace. He's not ready for this!"

"Nonsense!" The spymaster exclaimed back with an annoyed tone. "We know that it's finally the time for him to fulfil his duty as a prince. It's the sole reason he's here with us."

"Lady Amanda only seeks for the prince's safety." The chancellor clarified with a stern tone. "Even I don't fully agree with his decisions."

"Then why don't you let me handle this issue?! I can easily accomplish it even on my own." The spymaster asked bitterly. His irritation is rising on dangerous levels by every second that passes, and so is the tension between the council members.

"We all know that you're aware of what you can only do, captain." The general replied with a calm tone as he attempts to loosen the tension between them. "Besides, prince Raine's old enough to make his own decisions, whether we like it or not."

"Cut the nonsense, Walter." He rolled his eyes sarcastically as a response. "You and the army are too lazy to do your job that you just rely them to others. How pathetic."

Walter's eyes widened at the remark so he tries to clarify his statement. "Excuse you, I don't think you're paying attention to what I've said before."

"...Which might be why he's being like this today." The chancellor added. "Did you have your tea beforehand?"

The spymaster scoffed harshly. "It's none of your concerns, old man."

He gasped, clearly offended of the statement. " How dare you?!"
