Long update ahead, so take your time to read it! I tried my hand at writing a little action scene for the first time, so let me know what you think.

Quick note: the character Naina in our story is not S. Tinde, okay? You can imagine any other person as Naina! I just like the name Naina, so I added it as Haseena's friend. But seriously, don't imagine S. Tinde as Naina—she doesn't fit at all with all the nonsense she says. Just wanted to clear that up. Naina is not Tinde; feel free to picture her as any other supporting character.

Now, without further delay, let's dive into the update! Happy reading!

Haseena hurriedly got ready, throwing on her clothes and grabbing her luggage. She was careful not to forget anything as she rushed out of her room. The cab was already waiting outside, its headlights casting a glow in the pre-dawn darkness. She placed her luggage in the trunk and turned to Ammi, her heart heavy with the thought of leaving her alone.

"Thik hai Ammi, ab chalte hain. Der ho rahi hai," Haseena said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Aap please time se dawai lijiye aur agar kuch bhi pareshani ho aur humara phone na lage toh... Karish..." she paused, remembering the tension, "aaa Naina ko call kariye. Ok? Please dhyan rakhiye apna. Hum pohunch ke call karte hain aapko."

"Haan, haan, pata hai hume sab. Aur bhulo mat hum Ammi hai tumari, pareshani ki koi baat nahi. Hum dhyaan rakhenge apna. Tu apne kaam pe dhyaan de aur sahi salamat wapas aa," Ammi responded, her voice steady but filled with unspoken worry and love.

The cab driver started the car, and as Haseena began to get in, Ammi called out, "Time se khana kha lena, bhulna mat aur dhyaan rakhna apna!"

"Ji!" Haseena replied, waving her hand as the car pulled away. She glanced at the time and felt a wave of relief, realizing she had enough time to catch her flight. As the car sped through the quiet streets, she remembered she still hadn't called Karishma.

Reaching into her bag, she pulled out her phone, which had been charged overnight while she slept in Ammi's room. It was in decent condition, enough to get her through the next couple of days. She dialed Karishma's number, not even considering the time—2:45 a.m. All she wanted was to hear Karishma's voice, to tell her about the day's incidents and her sudden departure to Delhi.

"The number you are trying to call is currently not reachable. Please try again later," the automated voice informed her.

"Aahha! Ye call kyu nahi lag raha?" Haseena mumbled to herself, trying again and getting the same response. Her heart raced as her mind conjured up all sorts of worst-case scenarios.

The human brain has a tendency to think of the worst first, to find negativity before considering the good. With Karishma unreachable, Haseena's anxiety spiked, her thoughts turning dark. She imagined Karishma in trouble, her heart pounding with worry.

"Damn it, Krishu... Why the hell is your number not reachable? Hain kahan aap?" Haseena muttered, her worry intensifying. The idea of calling Pushpa ji crossed her mind, but she dismissed it. "No, it's too late at night to disturb her," she thought. "Kuch nahi hua hoga, Haseena! Calm down. Kuch aisa waisa mat socho," she tried to reassure herself, taking deep breaths to calm her racing heart.

As the cab approached the airport, Haseena continued to dial Karishma's number, her anxiety refusing to ease. She knew she had to focus on her work trip, but the gnawing worry for Karishma lingered, casting a shadow over her thoughts.

Meanwhile on the other side....

Karishma's pulse quickened as she sensed footsteps approaching. Her body ached from the earlier struggle, but adrenaline surged through her veins, sharpening her senses. She forced her eyes open, scanning the darkness, and spotted a shadowy figure emerging from the gloom. Before she could react, the figure lunged at her again, the silence of the night shattered by his attack.
