"So you sing?" I hear from beside me.
I turn my head to look at him.
"Yeah, mi mamá used to maybe I got it from her," I say clutching my locket.
"Used to?" He asks.
"Yeah, she died when I was 13," I say feeling tears form in my eyes.
I blink them away and look at him with a smile.
"So what is your name?" I ask.
"Blaine," He says looking at me as if he was trying to read me.
"I am Gabriella but my friends call me Gabby," I say
"So we are friends now?" He asks amused.
"Of course," I say bringing my arms around myself shivering all over from it being cold in here.
"Here," Blaine says handing me his jacket.
"No, you are gonna get cold," I say
"I will be fine just take it, baby girl," He says making me blush slightly at the nickname.
"Thanks," I say taking it from him and wrapping it around myself.
"Gabriella, we called your Father. he said that your driver would come to pick you up," Nancy says making me tense up when she mentions my father.
Shit...He wasn't supposed to be back for another 3 days.
I feel someone grab my hand calming me slightly. I look down to see Blaine's hand on mine. I look at him and into his eyes. They were such a beautiful hazel color that I never wanted to look away.
"Blaine, Gabriella, your family is here to pick you up," Nancy says snapping me out of my thoughts.
I look away from Blaine and stand up losing the warmth of his hand as I did. I immediately wanted to grab it again. But I didn't. Instead, I headed over to the cell door and waited until Nancy unlocked it. When she does I walk over to the desk and out the station. Just as the sun hits my face I smile softly closing my eyes and lifting my head up to feel its warmth against my skin.
"Gabby," I hear John say.
"Is he back?" I ask.
"Yes, I am sorry," He says lowly.
I nod opening my eyes and looking at him. I place my hand on his arm and shake my head.
"It isn't your fault," I say softly.
I hear a cough snapping me out of my thoughts.
I look over to where it came from and see a teen girl dirty and holding a sign. She was homeless. I looked her over and saw she had holey socks and smiled walking over to her. I bend down taking out my wallet and handing her what was in it. I slip off my shoes and gently place them on her feet.
"Get something to eat, sweetheart," I say caressing her cheek.
She smiles and jumps up hugging me. I chuckle hugging her back. I didn't care how dirty she was. She looked like she needed it.
"Thank you," She whispers.
"You're welcome. Here," I say handing her a card with an address on it.
"Go here. They will welcome you with open arms and warm food. Just tell them Gabriella sent you," I say. She nods and stands up walking away.
I turn around only to be met with four men looking at me. I walk over to Blaine and hand him back his leather jacket.
"Here, you gonna need it more than I would," I say handing it back to him with shakey hands.
"Thanks, Baby girl," He says softly.
I nod. I look to his left to see Alexander. I only know him because he works for my father. I look to Blaine's right to see another. But this time I don't know him. He gives me a flirty smile and I couldn't help but give him a smile back.
"Gabby, we have to go," John says.
My smile immediately drops and I clench my fist tightly embedding my nails into my skin.
"Goodbye, mi caballero negro," I say looking up at Blaine.
I stand up on my tippy toes and kiss his cheek. He brings his arms around my waist and hugs me tightly to his body. Without thinking I hug him back just as tight. I didn't want to leave. He made me feel safe.
"Gabby, it's your Father. He says he wants you home now," John states.
I sigh reluctantly pulling away. I take a step back looking at each of them one last time before turning and getting into the car.
"I'm not ready, John," I say in a whisper.
"I know but you are Gabby. The strongest person I know. I mean I have never even seen you cry before," He says chuckling.
I chuckle shaking my head looking out the window and watching as each building passes by so fast. But I know as each one passes the closer I get to my house. Clenching my fist I take a breath.
You got this Gabby. He can on hurt the outside never the inside. Don't let him destroy the little hope you have left.
