"This morning, our informant at city hall was taken out." A woman, known to some as the handler, adjusted her wide brimmed hat with a slender gloved hand. Despite the lazy air about her, her gaze was sharp, betraying dangerous intelligence. "They're patching their security holes left and right; the counter-intelligence agency in this country is no joke."

::

"W-what the hell is this?" A man at his desk yelped at the sight of three uniformed men, a seal emblazoned on their hats, weapons cocked, standing stoically on guard.

"State Security Service. Jim Hayward. You're being detained on suspicion of espionage." A scarred man at the center monotonously presented a passport.

::

"Apparently the guy worked in finance and had been selling office records to someone." A dark haired woman —Sharon— sighed, exhaling out a puff of smoke.

Yor gasped righteously. "What a horrible man!"

"I guess." The other woman mumbled, tilting her head tiredly towards the ceiling. She would never understand Yor's energy.

::

"Oh, Yor, that's right... My boyfriend ran into your little brother yesterday. Have you seriously not told him you got married?" Camilla tossed her perfectly curled blonde hair, all pretty and dolled up.

Yor blinked at her for a moment, processing. And then, her eyes widened. The part-time assassin cried out in horror. "Oh no! I completely forgot!"

"You forgot... for an entire year...?" Sharon echoed in disbelief, her brows climbing.

::

He exhaled a stream of cigarette smoke, leaning forward, "Let's go over this one more time."

In a dangerously soft voice, the scarred officer repeated himself with deliberate slowness. "How many files did you steal? Which ones were they? Who did you sell them to? How did they initiate contact? Where did you meet? When? How many times?"

The man, the convicted, sitting across him, bruised, one eye swelled shut, coughed out desperately. "Just... let me go home."

The State Security Service (SSS)

An organization feared by the public established to maintain public order. Their primary objectives include hunting down spies and surveilling the public.

Known as The Secret Police.

"Good morning, captain." A dark haired man strode into the office cheerfully, eyes sparkling with laughter. "The boss asked me to take over the interview."

The scarred captain sighed, standing up and brushing past. "Fine. Good luck... Lieutenant Briar."

The said Lieutenant Briar saluted. "I'll do my best! Thank you, sir!"

Yuri Briar, age 20. The man was a secret police officer.

::

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Hayward." Yuri took off his hat, beaming at the badly beaten up man who only stared back at him in disbelieving silence. Likely along the lines of who is this bubbly kid and what is he doing in an interrogation room?

He sat down across from the latter who opened his mouth to grit out angrily. "I don't have anything to say to—"

Yuri interrupted sunnily. "Then just listen! My sister got married! We're going to celebrate together tonight!"

The man looked taken aback. "That's, uh..."

Yuri ignored him, continuing buoyantly. "I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't seen her in a long time. She's so kind, and pretty too. She means the world to me."
