Hello my Simba chippies!

I decided to finally write something for my non-existent readers because all I did today was lie in bed on social media.
This chapter is all about my extremely healthy obsession with music.

MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC EERRRMAHGAD I LOVE MUSIC!!!!

Okay, slow down Amie.

When I say I'm obsessed with music, I don't mean like people who say OMG I LOVE MUSIC ITS MY LIFE just because they are obsessed with bands and lots of artists and they know alot of music and listen to it a lot and stuff. (Not that there's anything wrong with that, *cough cough 5SOS*)

But I feel like people like that who just say they are in love with music don't really understand what they are saying.
When most people say they love music, they mean that they love the product that other musicians make. Because you see, they don't see all the hardwork that actually goes into making music, and therefore cant identify with it on a very personal level.

*Stops crowd before they attack me*

Now, of course I don't mean that these people don't have emotions of course they do, music is designed to ignite feelings. All I'm saying is that they cant ever really have the deep connection with music that people like me do.

Now you're probably wondering what i mean by this.

let me start from the beginning.

My relationship with music started before i was born. My mother has always been a very musical soul, and she has the most amazing voice.
She told me that she used to sing to me in the womb, and I think that was where my love for music started, and throughout my life it has just grown.

I was 8 years old when I got my piano for Christmas. It was the best present I ever got. I started lessons in piano that year and ever since, playing music has been my passion. I developed this deep passion for music that lives within my very soul. And ever since I started high school this year, it has grown more than ever.

Music basically controls my life, and to be honest i wouldn't have it any other way. This year I started playing Clarinet, and I think I've fallen in love with it. I have a rare aptitude for this particular instrument, and my baby (my clarinet) is my favorite thing I own, besides my piano of course.

When I said music dominates my life, I wasn't kidding. On a Monday morning, I have clarinet ensemble. On a Tuesday, I have Chamber choir rehearsals for 2 hours. On a Wednesday, I have Windband. On a Thursday, I have choir rehearsals for 3 hours and theory in the morning. Then, I have practical lessons in piano and clarinet, so that's 2 lessons more a week. This doesn't include all the time I spend practicing, and all the competitions and Eisteddfods and concerts I play in.

I also take subject music, which is like one of your normal classes you have during school. This is divided into GMK and Aural ( like I mentioned in the last chapter) We learn about the history of music, about all the different eras of music like romantic and classical and rock music.
I'm fascinated by people like Beethoven and learning about how to compose music and the kinds of scales used in Chinese and Indian music.

All i want to do for the rest of my life is play music and learn about music and throw myself into music.

I feel like I have this deep connection with music that goes much deeper than just listening to it and singing it and playing it. Its something that I can't explain. And it irritates the life out of me when people are so shallow as to think they really understand what it is to be in love with music. Because let me just say that unless you play an instrument, you will never get it. You won't know what it feels like to have a deep connection with music so much that you just want to be with your instrument all the time.

Okay enough ranting.
One more thing is my taste in music:
My taste in music is weird af.
I love classical music, romantic music, choral music, orchestral music, punk rock, hard rock, alternative rock, rap, RnB, and obviously some of the mainstream music you hear nowadays.

So now you understand that when I say I love music, I mean it. Really mean it.
I am utterly, completely and irrevocably in love with music.

And now I shall leave you with a quote that is my life:

"The only love affair I have ever had was with music."
~ Maurice Ravel
