~ Wriothesley after the blind date ~
After y/n immediately left the car and her heels clacked away, the secretary, Sunghoon, drove Wriothesley back home.
"Do you know that woman, your grace?" The secretary drove around the road back to their house.

"She was the woman at the blind date," Wriothesley was highlighting the notes from the paperwork on his tablet.

"Ah—" Sunghoon made a turn, "How was it?"

"It was interesting. I've never seen a woman like her before," Wriothesley huffed. He smiled.

"Alright."

"Perhaps I'll probably marry her—"

SCREECH!

"You'll what—!" Sunghoon barely braked before the red light. Did I hear that right? Wriothesley the workaholic? Marry?

"No need to get all worked up. It's the only way to put all these time wasting blind dates to an end," Wriothesley clicked his digital pen back in the slot of the tablet. He stared out the window.

"But do you really love her?"

"..."

"Perhaps you should tell her your intention about marriage before discussing with grandfather," Sunghoon lightly stepped on the accelerator.

"Of course."

~ At the Duke's office ~

"Your grace, are you sure about Jin Yeongseo?" Sunghoon saw Wriothesley fixated on his work. He was reading one of the criminal records for Wriothesley, but couldn't help but think of what he said that night.

"You're still on about that?" Wriothesley kept his head down on his work before one of the guards came in.

"Sir, there's been a new batch from the Palais Mermoria—"

"I know, I know. Chill out. Don't barge in here like this again," Wriothesley's voice lowered with a tint of annoyance. The guard left, guilty. "Guards these days are so worked up. It's like I've punished them or something, heh," Wriothesley smirked, wondering what could be so uptight about his personality.

"I mean, you did make them give you 20 push-ups if they couldn't earn 300 coupons in 30 minutes," Sunghoon closed his tablet.

"What could be so tough about earning 300 coupons. I'm just making sure they are earning well—"

"They aren't the Duke in the Fortress of Meropide. Their chances of income is 20% lower than the Duke and 60% lower than the Chief Duke."

Sigh. "Fine, what is it you wanted to talk about?" Wriothesley dropped his pen, crossing his arms and turning his spinning chair to Sunghoon.

"Do you really love Yeongseo?"

"If I did, why am I wanting to marry her?" Wriothesley turned the question around.

"It just looked to me that you're only marrying her for the sake of grandfather to not be in your ears all the time.

Wriothesley sighed before turning his chair back to do his work again, "I'll see if I can arrange dinner with her tonight. I'll need you to go and collect her from YYY company for me."

"Of course, your grace."

Sunghoon walked over to the car park to grab his car before driving to the YYY company.
Jin Yeongseo, y/n's best friend who worked under YYY company, was packing to leave before she saw an unfamiliar man outside her company.
"Huh, what a cute guy..." she must've said that too loud.

The guy was Sunghoon, secretary of the Duke in the Fortress of Meropide and was picking up Jin Yeongseo for Wriothesley.

"Excuse me, do you know anyone by the name of Jin Yeongseo?" Sunghoon asked, approaching Jin Yeongseo.

Blinded by love, something clicked between them. Flowers in their heart felt as if they were blooming and a sparkle in both of their eyes lit up. "Yes, you're talking to her right now," Yeongseo smiled.

"I work at the Fortress of Meropide, I've come to pick you up," Sunghoon was blushing.

"Are you associated with the Duke?"

"D-duke, yeah. Wriothesley, I-I am—" he stuttered.

Yeongseo stared in awe at the Duke in the Fortress of Meropide. So this was the guy I've been pushing y/n into dating.
Erk... Wrong!

"How about we go get some dinner?" Sunghoon chuckled.

"That would be lovely!"

~~

What could be taking Sunghoon so long? I only asked him to get Yeongseo from the company. Wriothesley, put a hand on the temples of his head. He let out a low sigh and got up from his chair to take a walk along the surface.

He left, greeting the people at the reception before explaining his whereabouts. "I'll be going for a short while before a dinner with the Chief Duke. If you may, you can sign me out of my work," he walked out to the surface. The discussion about marriage was going to be taking a while if Sunghoon wouldn't be loyal enough to come back.

He took a little while outside. Wriothesley crossed his arms, standing on top of Fontaine's air balloon. From below, he could relax, as he watched the view of Fontaine from below. He really liked the Fortress of Meropide. The security of being underwater. But taking a breather of what the air really smells like is best.

The air balloon went lower, the ride about to end. As Wriothesley could get the detail of every person on ground, he spotted Sunghoon. Huh, Sunghoon?!

Before he could even question what he was doing and the girl he's with, he got a call from grandfather.

Hesitating to decline, he answered it anyway. "Hey, grandson," The chief Duke reached line with Wriothesley.

"Yes?"

"Funny for you to answer, Sunghoon isn't picking up," grandfather scoffed, "I'm arranging a family dinner tomorrow evening at my place. Please inform Sunghoon about this."

"Of course," Wriothesley got distracted seeing the woman and Sunghoon getting really close. He decided to brush it off and question him later on it.

"You see, work has been—" grandfather's words were fading away as Wriothesley got lost in thought, "...and that bastard inmate has—"

"Don't worry, grandfather. I'll tell Sunghoon on it immediately." Wriothesley brought the phone from his ear in front him to end the call.

"Wrio—" the grandfather got cut off.

As the hot air balloon lowered, Wriothesley called Sunghoon when he was in sight. He dialed, watching if Sunghoon would pick up his phone. Sunghoon felt the vibration, taking his phone out of his pocket to answer.

"Sunghoon, there's something important to discuss," Wriothesley never let his eyes off Sunghoon.

"Ah, what is it Your Grace?"

"Grandfather has invited us over for dinner tomorrow evening. It sounds pretty important."

"Alright, I'll go. I'm just in the middle of a walk," Sunghoon stared at Yeongseo.

"Of course you are..." Wriothesley smiled, "who's that woman you're with?"

"Woman— what woman?!" Sunghoon startled over what Wriothesley knew. "Wh— where are you?!"

Wriothesley ended the call.
