Alicia

“Sombra strikes again last night.”

“I don't know if you can even consider them heroes.”

“Blah blah I bet they're all just youngsters who pulled pranks.”

Thats what I hear mostly in our office, a newspaper office who publishes article where no one even give a fuck.

But ever since Sombra showed their self again in Evergreen City, many tried to deem them as bad guys or teenagers. Five motorbikers who cause ruckus around the city, but for me…they're vigilantes.

Like those heroes you see in the movies who saves their damsel in distress in need but Sombra bikers are different…they cause trouble but at the same time as they cause ruckus, the crime rate in Evergreen City is getting lower.

I don't even know why the police don't act on this city, such a bull crap.

“Alicia! What the fuck is this article?!” My superior approached me in my desk as she slap the newspaper to my face.

“What?” I raise my eyebrow, angry at what she just did before I took the newspaper. Oh. This?

I wrote an article about the Mayor Perez’s embezzlement from one of his project hospital in the outskirt of Arkham. I snooped his office of course on how I did it is not to be told.

“Why? I'm just telling the truth? Am I not a news writer? One of our oaths are to tell the truth.” I shrug my shoulders making my superior flush like a red beet.

“The Mayor called me! Your ruining our company you bitch! Can't you just write a sports news for once? Don't fixate in political side!” She stomps off and I giggle, my cubicle mate beside me sigh at my behavior.

“Your getting yourself in trouble Alicia, the Mayor is powerful.” Hilda peeks out of her cubicle with a disappointed look in her face.

“Blah blah political powers. Connection. Then who's gonna stop them if they keep corrupting the people?” I jump off my seat and shut down my PC. I need to get a scope of Senator Petrov tonight.

“Be careful out there!”

I won't be shackled by those people who have power, why? I am a newswriter.

As soon as I manage to walk out of our company as expected I see two teenagers sneefing weeds in the corner. You should never be shocked if you got here in Evergreen, in every corner you'll see those.

“Hey! Get a fucking life!” I shout to them as I throw my ballpen at them, out of all the places to sniff weeds they chose our office?!

“What are you gonna do about it old lady?”

“Yeah get lost!”

The veins in my head is about to pop as I chase after them, whose old? Me?!

As they ran away after seeing my angry face I laugh, serves them right.

This crimes in the morning is increasing, those criminal know to not cause trouble in night when Sombra bikers roam the city so they do this in the limelight.

As I walk back to my apartment, I pluck out my heels. The calves of my feet searing in pain.

My phone on my pocket buzzes as I pick it up. My dad, Emyr Yudrid.
