The cool air of the night engulfed Castiel as he walked along side the empty road. His head pounded and his clothes were torn up and damp from the rain that had been falling before. How long had he been walking. The feeling of an empty stomach had become nothing to him by this point. He couldn’t seem to remember why he was walking and where he was supposed to be going. Car’s had passed him every now and again, but besides that his endeavor was a very lonely one. The dark of the trail before him began to brighten as a car crept closer to him. Disoriented, Castiel payed no mind to the lights that where coming closer and closer to him, not to his right like usual, but straight for him. Is that car going to hit me? He thought for a moment. What use was there in turning and running away. If he was so insignificant that no one had bothered to help him in what felt like weeks of abandon, why run away from this box of metal that could run him down? Maybe, if there was a God in heaven, he was meant to be run down in the middle of nowhere. Castiel stopped walking and closed his eyes as the blinding lights came closer and closer. They’re not going to stop. Might as well get this over with. Castiel could feel his limbs become heavy as he relaxed, and slowly gave into the feeling of needing to sleep that he had been resisting for days, just in time to hear tires screeching to a halt on wet asphalt.

As Castiel opened his eyes he wondered, yet again, where he was. The last thing he remembered was being ready to die. The muffled sound of two deep voices made themselves known as Cas began to fully wake up. A hand was on his shoulder, coaxing him to lie down and he looked over to a long haired man who was sitting down next to... what ever it was that Cas was lied down on. A table? A bed? Those details could be figured out at a later time.

“Dean, he’s up. Hey, can you tell me your name?... Dean! Get in here!” The long haired man said in a deep voice. Cas looked up at him and the reached his hand up and pressed the heal of his palm to his left eye, rubbing the sleep from it and then repeating that motion on the other.

“C-Castiel... I think...” Cas answered. His voice was scratchy and uneven.

“You think? Do you know where you are or what the date is?” The man asked again.

“No... I.... I can’t.”

“Great, sleeping beauty’s got amnesia!” A new voice called out. Cas looked over at that gravely voice and saw a short haired man in a green jacket and jeans. His skin was light and freckles could be seen on the bridge of his nose. Cas opened his mouth to speak again but suddenly felt dizzy, his eye sight blurring, he fell back and passed out again. Dean. He thought. The long haired man said Dean. That’s his name... Dean....
