Evelyn said cursed words to herself as she went to the boys room in the Hufflepuff tower, feeling bad that she had stood up Cedric. It wasn't her intention and now she will have to make it up to him.

She needed to apologize... at least that's what she could do for tonight.

Knocking on the door, one of the Hufflepuff boys -Jack, opened the door and was surprised to see Evelyn there. Once again, she was known to be the quiet one but today she has made a new impression on her classmates.

"Evelyn, right?" Evelyn nodded.

"Is Cedric here?" She asked, taking him more by surprise if he wasn't already.

"Uh-"

"I got it, thanks Jack." Evelyn heard Cedric say as he came from behind Jack.

He was already in his pajamas, it looked like Evelyn came just in time before he went to sleep. Jack left the two alone and there was an awkward silence, before Cedric said "Shall we go down to the common room? There are some boys that are already asleep. I don't want to wake them up."

Evelyn nodded and the both of them went down to the common room, sitting on the couch besides one another.

At least he doesn't seem angry at her, but again it was Cedric, he was always very nice to everyone around him. "Cedric... I'm- I'm so sorry, it wasn't my intention, I really didn't mean to-  but Harry- and then everyone else-"

Before Evelyn could process what was happening, he leaned in and kissed her, shutting her up from her ranting.

She was so shocked that she didn't know what to do. After all, it was her first kiss.

She never imagined it would be with Cedric.

It was a very short peck on the lips, but it was enough to make her feel nervous or some kind of butterfly in her stomach.

"Sorry- I don't know what came into me." Cedric said once he saw her shocked face. But then it softened when he felt embarrassed since she didn't react the way he expected her to. However, what she did next took him off of guard. She kissed him back, this time for a bit longer.

Cedric smiled against the kiss because he could tell she did not know what she was doing, but she was trying her best. Once he pulled away, he stayed with his head against her forehead and couldn't stop smiling.

"Look... I know that we don't really know each other, so I don't want to rush into things. But I just really wanted to let you know that I know you didn't mean to stand me up. It happened, yes and hopefully it won't happen again, but I know that Harry probably needed someone today more than what I needed you."

"How can you be so understanding? I really don't get why you are interested in me..." Evelyn said, because that thought hasn't left her head since he invited her on the date. "I mean.. I'm no one."

"You're more than that and what makes me intrigued by you is that you don't even see it Evelyn."

All Evelyn could do is blush as he kissed her on the cheek smiling slightly at him. "Can we reschedule for after the first task of the tournament so I have a motivation to live in that torturous thing?"

Evelyn laughed and nodded as the both of them stood up and started walking towards the stairs for the dormitories.

"Goodnight Eve."

"Goodnight Cedric."

The next day, Evelyn woke up with a smile on her face as she was excited to see Cedric after last night. She was excited but also nervous. She still had to talk to Harry this though but she didn't know exactly why she had the need to tell him first before anything else happened.
