Jack stared at the two kids in front of him—a toddler and an infant. He sighed heavily as he watched them drift to sleep. All he could do was sit and wonder how he could possibly take care of them.
He was never meant to have children, let alone two. But here they were, right in front of him. It felt almost like some cosmic joke: make the most irresponsible man in the Two Worlds responsible for two small beings.
He ran a hand through his hair, a mix of fear and determination gnawing at him. He had no idea how to raise children, especially with how dangerous his life was. But as he looked at their peaceful faces, he knew one thing for certain—he wasn't going to fail them.
