Min Yoongi's POV

I gazed out, perching at the faint night sky, to be found with no stars in the outstretched black sky. I sat on the windowsill, gently stroking Hazel, enjoying the stillness around me. The milky white curtain draped down moved back and forth due to the gentle wind, and the Mandarin orange was placed in a translucent bowl in the right corner of the window sill, infusing a pop of contrast into the dimly lit room.

Suddenly, I noticed a skulking shadow moving back and forth beneath the door. I opened it to find Soo Ah standing with an obscured look. After our little conversation, she ran away after passing on the box to me.

After setting the box down on the table, I unfurled the ribbon. To my surprise, I found a caramel-knitted sweater with a little kitten's paws on the right side of it. Did she knit it?

When I removed the other shirt, there were no stains and a pungent beer smell on it. Rather, it had a lavender perfume, which is her scent that intrigued me yesterday.

Perhaps she did it to get away from the smell.

The delicate scent of lavender engulfed me serenely. It was unique rather than typical. Her smell was of the sweetness of the bursting colorful candy, which made me elated that emanated from her.

What makes her lavender scent so distinctive?

Although Hazel didn't socialize much with strangers, she felt at ease with Soo Ah. While I was thinking, Hazel fell peacefully asleep on that shirt. I rubbed her body. "Do you also like her scent?" I mumbled and went to sleep.

The next day, in the evening of the Chinese New Year, the house was nestled with joyful chatter, and the smoke of incense sticks was palpable drifting in the air. Hoseok, Soo Ah, and their grandparents were preparing dumplings.

"Yoongi! Would you like to make dumplings with us?" Hoseok's grandpa asked.

"Grandpa, let me help you," I said. He smiled, as it left wrinkles in the corner of his eyes. We were able to only converse for a minute in the morning as I had work to do. I sat down next to Hoeseok, who was struggling to get the proper shape of the dumplings.

"You can't even properly make dumplings. I wonder how you are looking after the firm," I said, filling in the meat to find Hoseok and others cracking up.

"You are going to teach me how to make the dumplings the wrong way. I just can't seem to get it into the right shape, and you have no idea how to make it," Hoseok replied, grinning at me.

"Some people don't know how to cook but are good at pointing out mistakes. Grandma, I made it in the right shape." Soo Ah squealed and mockingly glanced at me.

"Soo Ah, it's perfect. Kids, look! This dumpling is in a crescent moon shape. It is believed that if you prepare them on New Year's Eve, your life will be as bright as the moon," Grandma said to us.

"This one resembles the shape of a pouch bag filled with money. Remember, the more you eat dumplings, the more you will make money that year," Grandpa said, chuckling. Then they three went to cook, leaving me and Soo Ah by ourselves.

"I'm glad you did not tear the shirt apart, and I got it back in the same way," I said, and she frowned at me.

"Did you like the sweater I knitted for you for hours?"

"Thank you for that, and I liked it."

We all gathered up and had our New Year Chinese feast. I got to know that the assorted dumplings had a special meaning and that New Year's Eve is a time to reminisce and reconnect with our family members, hoping for a bountiful year filled with happiness, warmth, and laughter.

"How about we take a little trip outside?" With a loud exclamation, Hoseok pulled the two of us to the internet cafe. Despite the New Year's party, there was no one around the Internet cafe, which was located in a secluded area. The majority of them looked like high school boys as we walked in. A thirty-year-old man ran out, shoving us, looking terrified. In confusion, we all looked at one another.

"Hold on, don't say that this internet cafe operates illegally," shouted Soo Ah.

"Whose idea was this?" Hoseok asked.

"Yours!" we both yelled at him.
