"So honey, are you ready for tomorrow's flight?" my mother Emily Matthews asked through the phone.
I just sigh.
Hmm.. Brazil.
Actually it's no biggie for me because we always travel to places and we'd been there already. But the thing is, we have to live there for years which means, I have to study there and leave my career here in Europe, which is a big no no for me. I mean I've worked hard for it in years and I'll just have to leave? No way Jose.
But family's a family. I really have to. The reason for leaving is valid though. And don't like being far from them. I'll miss them like hell. (excuse my language mister)
My mother is a Spanish American. And she was born in London and brought up there. She's a fashion designer. She works at one of leading fashion establisments in the world, The Matthews.
So yeah, you heard it right. That's our family's business.
"Hmm, quite ready" I said to my mother while looking outside through the window. "Where's my Zachy Zach Zach?"
"Over here!" well you hear that voice over there? Ofcourse I heard it. He's like shouting it. That's my lovely twin brother Zachary Matthews.
I smiled. "Yeah like I could see you" I scoff.
"Ooh don't worry, you'll see your handsome big brother tommorrow" he cooed.
I laugh, "Yeah can't wait!" I said grinning.
I really miss them so much, especially my twin. I haven't seen him for 4 months except for skyping every week. (By the way, thanks to the High-Technology in our generation nowadays.. thumbs up to them!)
And that's how we're busy.
Zach's now studying in a real school in High School as a junior in Brazil. His life seems more normal now because before we'd been home schooled for 2 years.
But we'd experience already on how cliche middle school was. At 7th grade, we're both sent at private school here in England where all students in my campus were girls and his were all boys. That's how sad our social life is. On that time, I really have to deal too much where there's crying, breakups and hearing those freaking words like "oh my gosh! oh my gosh! I have pimple!"
I mean really? Why would you stressed it out when it will just cause to multiply them. Pimples are normal you know (well that's in my case though).
And having those skirt uniforms in like one inch above my knee and theirs were like four or five inches something (I bet that's six though.. hmm). And having those killer heels.I could still remember what was written on our student handbook that time. And I'm sure enough that the things stated there was to " wear heels." There's not even a word "killer" there. Even if you read it twice or maybe a bazillion times.
I mean it's heplful when it comes to self-defense but we're just all girls in the campus and despite on how beautiful it looks like, it's pretty annoying by hearing the tok tok sound of it. But I'm not saying my heels weren't that annoying too. It just that the higher the heels, the louder the tok tok is.
And that's how dramatic middle school was back then. But I missed it. I only spend a year there and got home schooled for the rest and mine's till now in 10th grade because of our career. But I will transfer though.
I breathe deeply.
Tommorow will be a start of new beginning. My father's voice brought me back from my senses. "Well it's already late in there." I look over to my bedside clock - 9:15pm. "So sleep tight honey. Goodbye and take care. I love you" my father said. "And we love you" my mother said in a sing-sang voice.
