I woke up around 6 AM exactly 3 hours before school starts. I got up from the bed slipped into my slippers and walked downstairs and saw my mom laying down on the couch drunk I believe. I walked over the couch and stared down at her her neck was full of hickey's and love bites I was disgusted and walked to the kitchen to get myself some coffee yeah coffee is not good for teenagers but it makes me feel a bit more energetic and ready for day.
I grabbed a cup from cabinet and put the water to boil.
I was waiting for water to boil and saw my mom waking up.
"Rosie." At her yelling I jumped a bit and before walking to her I poured the water in my cup and then poured in one tea spoon of coffee stirred it grabbed the cup and walked to the living room.
"Yes mom?" I sat down on the couch while holding the cup "Why are you here?" She was definitely drunk by her voice and memory it was easy to tell.
"You just called me." She looked at me angrily.
"Oh did I?"
"Yes mom you d-" Before I could finish my sentence she slapped me across my face and my cup fell out of my hand and the coffee spilled over the white carpet "You little brat." My mom grabbed my hair and pushed me off of the couch on the carpet I fell on my knees trying to process what is going on.
"Don't you dare to say a word. Be grateful that you still have roof over your head." Her harsh words hit me and I started to tear up "Mom.." my voice cracked "please don't be like thi-" she grabbed me by my hair her grip firm and yelled in my face "I'm your mother and I'll treat you however I want. I gave birth to you." Her grip on my hair loosened and she stoop up from the couch "Wish I didn't gave birth to you. I could've put you in orphanage from the beginning. You're nothing but a disappointment Rosie." I tried not to listen to her hurtful words but they were too harsh not to hear.
She took the belt out of her pants and hit me with it across the back and arms "Mom please" all I could do is beg her to stop it "Be fucking grateful for once." She yelled and stopped hitting me "Go get ready for school." I stood up from the floor and walked towards the stairs my body trembling and my eyes full with tears. "Keep your mouth shut or it will get worse." As her words reached my ears I felt weak as I couldn't breathe.

To school I wore baggy jeans and bigger hoodie to cover my bruises on my arms even if the weather was too hot I had to deal with it because showing my bruises to someone is my biggest insecurity.
I walked into the school to my locker to grab my books for today's classes "Hey girl!!" My ears recognized the voice and I turned my head to see Lily running towards me with a big smile on her face. She was about to hug me when I stopped her "Not today sorry.." I turned back to my locker and took out the books and put them in my backpack.
"What's with you Rosie?" Lily asked while leaning against the lockers with her shoulder her face towards me "Nothing don't worry...I didn't sleep well last night so I guess I'm not in the mood. Let's head to the class.." I locked my locker and started to walk towards my first class which was math "Rosie." Trying to ignore Lily never worked. "Yes?"
"I'm your best friend you can trust me..you know that right?"
"Yeah I know and I trust you. Everything's alright."
"Are you sure you don't even smile." I looked at her and gave her little smile which was fake one because today was one of those days when smile was gone she smiled back at me "There's my real Rosie!" she gave me quick hug and we walked into the math class.
