The ceremony

Present (15 yrs old)

I walked up to the Madrigal house and waved at Luisa who was walking past.
"Hola Luisa" I said.
"Hola y/n, Camilo's in town if that's who you came for" Luisa said, smiling kindly.
"Thank you" I said while walking towards the town. Luisa waved and went back inside the house.

As I walked into the village I saw a woman passing a baby to a replica of herself. I ran up to them.
"Camilo" I said his name in a sing-song voice.
"Hola y/n" he said.
"How'd you know it was me?" I asked jokingly with a small pout.
"Why wouldn't I Princesa?" He said the pet name a bit longingly but I ignored it. I still blushed.
"Well maybe because of my amazing sneaking skills and that it could have been one of your many family members or-" he cut me off mid rant.
"I can recognise the sound of your footsteps at this point y/n, no need to get flustered"
"Says you" I mumbled.
"What was that?" I know he heard me.
"Nothing!" I said louder.
Camilo gave the baby back to its mother and shape-shifted back into himself. His hair bounced as he did.
"You're staring" I heard him say. I shook my head.
"No I'm not!"
What was I here for again? Oh yeah.
"Camilo tia Pepa wants you, she said you had to go home early for Antonio's ceremony" I said while walking back in the direction I had originally come from.
"Oh okay! Thanks y/n, I'll see you at the ceremony" he called back running towards Casita.
I laughed at his urgency and walked back home to get ready myself for the ceremony and party for Antonio's birthday and so he can get his gift like everyone else in his family does. I couldn't wait a second longer.
