Step 2: Leave

She sighed as she looked to the ground and let herself fall onto the bench. The two of them were staring at the sunset, Jungwon sometimes sneaking glances at Nora.

She sighed once more and then turned towards him, not looking him in the eye, but still talking. "Why did you..." She stopped her words and presses her lips together, while he just tilted his head, confused.

"Why did I?" he repeated with a confused undertone and kept looking at her face. Nora then looked straight at his face, but immediately turned away when she felt his stare on her, blushing, which didn't go unnoticed by the other.

"Why did you..you know..run away?"

Jungwon furrowed his eyebrows and then slightly chuckled. "You could've just asked me normally" he still giggles and then smiles at her.

"To answer your question..." He thought for a minute, realizing that he was about to tell a random girl everything about him and his life, everything that he had tried to keep a secret.

Why?

Perhaps it was because of her irritatingly beautiful eyes, or maybe because of their similiar situations right now?

"Just some...family problems"

Nora nodded quietly and looked at the sky again. "Me too."

Jungwon looked at her, confused and started to furrow his eyebrows once again. Something he really loved doing. "What do you mean?"

Nora smiled softly. "We're really similiar, you know?"

Jungwon was still confused, but he noticed that she probably didn't want to talk about it, so he decided to not push any further.

For a while, the two sat in a comfortable silence, until Jungwon noticed her looking at him. He turned to look at her and he smiled softly, tilting his head. "Penny for your thoughts?"

She giggled and looked to the side, before standing up, the sun lighting her face up with beautiful orange, yellow and golden colors. "I know this may be really sudden.."

Jungwon now raised his eyebrows, suddenly noticing her beautiful features even more. "What is it?" He asked, with a dreamy look on his face.

"Would you maybe..want to run away together?"

He smiled at her and pretended to think for a moment, making her blush out of embarassement. He was probably gonna reject her and think she was weird, maybe even call her parents now. She obviously messed up. "You-Well-you don't have to-"

"Yes, i'll come with you." He spoke and also stood up, holding out his hand for her to shake it.

As she shook his hand, she slowly felt the panic leave her body, being replaced with happiness.

"Let's go to my car!" She excitedly said as she skipped towards her car, Jungwon following her while laughing.

They kept driving in random directions for the next two days, their goal being the airport. Luckily, they both had taken enough money with them, so they could afford a plane ticket.

They had just stopped at a gas station, to fill up their tank, when someone walked up to Nora and started flirting with her.

Jungwon was inside the car, watching them with an angry but also confident look. He wasn't gonna intervene, unless the guy started touching her. He was pretty sure she was tough and could fight for herself.

Just as the guy laid his hand on her waist, Jungwon opened the car door and walked towards the two. He swiftly slid his hands onto her waist and glared at the guy, but then sweetly looked down at Nora. "Babe, is this guy bothering you?"

Nora flinched as she felt someone touch her, but releaxed when she realized it was Jungwon.

The guy scoffed and threw a disgusted look towards her. "You have a boyfriend? Could've just said so, slut."

Jungwon glared holes into the guys' back as they watched him walk away.

Nora struggled to get out of his hold and she quickly hit him on the shoulder to get him out of his trance. "Jungwon, you can let me go now."

The latter just sighed and let her go. "Sorry.."

She smiled and walked into the shop to pay for the gas.

They both got into the car again, Jungwon being the one to drive this time.

"So..where did you live before all...this?" He asked and kept looking to the front of the road.

"A small town about an hour away from Seoul.." she spoke as she kept looking out the window. "You?"

Jungwon just nodded "Me too.." and looked at her for a few seconds. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

Nora frowned and sighed loudly. "I did, yes."

Jungwon nodded once again, an awkward silence following.

"Why are you using past tense?" He kept asking, not really understanding why he was so curious about her.

"My mom didn't like him, so we had to break up."

Jungwon nodded again, keeping his eyes on the road.

"I would've been really confused if you had said no."

Nora finally looked at him, feeling her cheeks becoming slightly red as she stared at his handsome side profile. "What do you mean?"

Jungwon giggled and looked into her eyes for a few seconds, before quickly focusing on the road again, smirking as he saw her blush. "You're really pretty, so it's normal that guys want you."

Nora blushed even more as she saw his smirk and she began to look out of the window again. "Thank you.." she mumbled and he just smirked once more. "You're welcome."

"Oh, we're here." Jungwon spoke as he drove into the parking lot of the rather small airport. She looked at the guy, who was basically a stranger, and smiled at him. "Let's get out of here.."
