Karina's outfit is above!

chapter twenty-one.

"Can I help you?" Karina opened her door to see Stefan there.

"Damon got bit last night by whatever wolf Klaus was going to use for the ritual." Stefan told her and Karina gave him a look. "Bonnie said the spirits won't help but she heard them say Klaus."

"Ah and you want me to go with you as backup." Karina nodded her head. "No."

"Karina please." Stefan pleaded with her. "It's my brother."

"A brother who tried to make Elena into a vampire, a brother who ruins just about everything he touches, so why would I help him?" Karina snapped angrily.

Stefan looked at her with teary eyes, "Please, Elena won't be able to handle another loss."

Karina had heard about John passing, about how Bonnie's spell had worked in keeping Elena alive and not turning into a vampire. Elena didn't like John, but she was learning to and now he was gone.

Karina groaned, "Fine." She grabbed her keys and motioned for him to lead the way. "Let's go."

Stefan drove them to Alaric's apartment as the man was sure that Klaus was still there. Karina entered first followed by Stefan, the two looked around and the hybrid was nowhere to be seen at all.

Suddenly the door opened, and Karina stood in front of Stefan protectively as Klaus and Elijah entered the apartment.

"You just keep popping up, don't you?" Klaus chuckled as he eyed Karina warily. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"I need your help." Stefan said, "For my brother."

"Well, whatever it is, he's gonna have to wait a tick. You see, I have an obligation to my brother," He motioned towards Elijah, "That requires my immediate attention."

He walked past Karina and Stefan and towards the bookshelves in the back, Karina made sure to keep her magic at the ready just in case.

"You both understand how important family is, or you wouldn't be here." He said as he approached them. "My brother gave me his word that he would reunite me with my own."

"And so, I shall." Klaus was suddenly behind Elijah, causing him to spin around towards him.

Karina flung out her hand and Klaus was on his knees immediately, crying out in pain while Elijah looked shocked to see that Klaus was about to dagger him.

Elijah picked up the dagger from the floor and backed away from Klaus with a glare. "I should've known you were going to try and betray me."

Karina released her hold on him, and Klaus panted. "How about we play nice before I make you?" Karina suggested while keeping her gaze on Klaus. "The witches said you had a cure for a werewolf bite, I want it."

Stefan looked at her shocked as she was taking the lead with this situation. He had assumed that she would simply be backup and he would handle it, but that wasn't the case here.

"How about a deal?" Klaus offered as he climbed back to his feet with a glare.

"A deal?" Karina scoffed, "Why would I make a deal with you? You literally just showed me that at any point you'd go back on your word."

Klaus' gaze hardened as she realized she had a point before he grinned, "Then let's make a witches vow."

"A vampire making a vow with a witch." Karina laughed softly, "That's not a vow, that's a pact."
