He walked away, his steps imprinted on the snow with his tattered shoes, revealing glimpses of his black socks through the gaps. I smiled at the last words he said to me. Did he really wish to live the life of a mysterious, cold-hearted young man? Had I written such a ridiculous character? He was an arrogant yet kind person, not the worn-out, cliché figure mentioned in countless tales. I can't stand this banality!I know Shield well, and I'm truly tired of pretending to be the sensible girl around him. I am not a composed person, so I'll show you, Shield. I'll force you to release that silly spirit trapped within you. I will stick to you like a shadow until you do!.

I heard the sound of laughter approaching us, so I grabbed his hand again, but this time, I dragged him behind me. He shouted angrily:"Don't you understand what I'm telling you?!""Do you want to be caught by the guards? No? Then follow me quietly!"We hid behind a wall of ornamental bushes, and I said to him:"Are you done with your clichéd talk about living a miserable, unhappy life? Do you want a prize for enduring hardship? Don't look at me like that, and before you speak, what do you think about bringing a smile back to that sad face?""What are you talking about?"I smiled at him and explained:"Come on, Shield, I'm offering you a chance to be friends. No, wait, let me rephrase that. I'm telling you that we are going to be friends.""Are you crazy?"He said, raising an eyebrow in bewilderment, while I finally felt a sense of enjoyment. I had had enough of this boring persona. I wanted the Shield who barged into my house demanding that I change his life, not the crying child with a frozen heart!.

"Call me whatever you want, but we're friends from now on. What do you think, how should we start this friendship?""Are you out of your mind?!"He shouted, surprised, and I saw a flicker of fear cross his face. I laughed, placing my hand over his mouth and glancing around."Shut up, you idiot! Your voice is too loud, someone might hear!""You're the idiot! What are you saying? I told you to stay away from me as much as possible, and now you're telling me you want to be friends? What's wrong with you?""There's nothing wrong with me, I'm perfectly fine. Can't you see?"He looked at me for a second and then said, "Are you in love with me? Because I can't understand your reasons.""No, if I were in love with you, I'd be acting more composed to impress you. Instead, I'm going to find you a girlfriend to change up your routine."

I replied sincerely, watching as he raised an eyebrow, trying to comprehend the barrage of surprises I was throwing at him. Suddenly, he burst into laughter, his face turning red, his white teeth and sharp fang showing. My heart fluttered, a strange sensation rising from my stomach as if butterflies were taking flight around me. I panicked for a moment but brushed off the feeling. I had felt something similar with Damir, so this wasn't love.

I saw him looking at me, his foot trying to edge away from the mess he'd found himself in. He said, "Sidra, I don't know what you're trying to do...""I don't want you to know, just go along with it. What's so great about loneliness and anger anyway?"I saw him scratch his arm as he replied, "I don't understand you at all... I came to tell you to stay away, I yelled at you, and now you're telling me you want to be friends. You talk to me like you've known me forever. Have we met before?""Hmmm, I don't know. Does it matter now?"I looked at his handsome face, a barely visible smile playing on his sad lips. He said, "I don't know either, but I...""How about you tell me your whole story?"

I was trying to piece together the information I had lost due to my poor writing. How did he end up in Wefran, adopted by a poor farming family in the countryside? And who was the man he claimed was his father?.
