An Old Flame

Jungkook was standing beside the car. He was told by Dia to pick up her son from school as she couldn't come back in time. The school was near his company and well-known school for rich families. He was waiting for his baby cousin to come out quickly. He wasn't patient with kids. He couldn't bear with the noises and chaos they made. 

There was a six year old kid running to him and hugged him and said "Ah pa". He picked the kid into his arms,"I am not your daddy. You got the wrong person. Kid" he said. The kid checked him," I am sorry. You looked like my Papa."
"Kim Taeguk",he heard the voice. The kid turned his little head to the voice. That must be the father and Jungkook also turned to. The mature, handsome guy in long coat was walking to them in worry. Jungkook nerves sound booming inside with bright sparkles to see the man. His cheeks became redder in happiness mixed with sadness and he was smiling wider showing his bunny teeth. "Tae..Taehyungshii",he stuttered.
The man smiled him back and grabbed the kid softly from his arms.
"Thank you, Mister," he said "I think you just called me 'Taehyung'?" Jungkook wondered his unchanging reaction. He was purely smiling at him and asked him."Ah, yeah." JK replied. "Well, then. Sorry if I am rude to ask. Are you a friend of mine? Co-worker? Close friend? Are you picking your child also?" He asked.
Why is he acting like this, talking like this? Doesn't he remember him? He tried to follow his flow and said,"Hell. Yeah.. I am your best friend. And I am here for my aunt's son. Is that your child?"
"Yeah! Look at him so cute. Hey, how about I will wait for your cousin, too. If you have time, I wanna chat a bit with you at the coffee shop nearby."
Jungkook nodded in agreement. His brain was not working well with all this mystery, Taehyung, who was talking to him as his old friend.

As Dia's son finally went out from school, Taehyung tapped JK shoulder to follow his car. Taehyung got in his expensive car, holding his son, and led Jungkook's car the way to the cafeteria. Jungkook was feeling down. Did he just marry a rich woman? Why didn't his face change at all to see him again? Is he wanting the truce after all those years. Is his wife beautiful?

The two went into the cafeteria holding each kid in their arms. The ladies at the shop whispered, "I envy their wives" and they were in love with the two handsome fathers, but they didn't know one was not the father.

Taehyung fixed his son's sweater and talked to him, "When was the last time we met? Ahh.. Let me tell you first since you look wondering why I am talking like this. I had a car accident seven years ago. I lost some of my memories although I remembered my parents and some friends. But if I tried really hard I regained the memory back. I still feel something was still missing. So whenever I met my old friends calling my name, I asked questions like a detective in mission. By the way, your name is...?"
"Jungkook. I am your childhood friend. You used to help me with some bullies. We parted since our graduation until now. I am so glad to meet you after all this years" he replied gladly. His love was in new life with new memory. Just stay like this way. He didn't want him to remember the dark side of him.

"Ahh, I am a good boy back then." Taehyung thought this old friend was still cute in his 30s.
"So, where is your wife?Who is she?", JK didn't want to ask but he had to. Taehyung's eyes flinched a bit and said, "She was a neighbor in our hometown and passed away years ago with cancer, leaving this beautiful baby to me." He didn't look sad, telling about his dead wife, he was like telling other's story. Jungkook shouldn't be happy about it but he couldn't help himself with happiness. So, he didn't marry a rich woman. He was wrong to him again.

"You seemed more glamorous than the last time we met. Are you in some business field? "
"Ahh. Nope. I bought some lands countryside with my savings. The land prizes got up high, I got an unbelievable amount of cash by selling them and became rich a little. I bought a home, car, and some shares from promising companies, and I live on the benefits the shares make. I don't work at all, Jungkook. I am happy with my life staying at home with my kid and my parents." Taehyung sipped coffee after replying.
Taehyung looked like he remembered something and slammed the table. Jungkook was afraid in wide eyes. Did he just remember something?
TH:" Hey, man. What the fuck. I am the one to ask you. Now I am answering everything. Tell me about it. How have you been these years? Oh. Oh my God. I just said What the fuck. Did I always talk to you like that back in the days?"
Jungkook felt relief and said, "Yeah. Most of the time, you talked to me that way since I look younger than you. Don't worry about it. Ah...to say something About me? I was running my family's business after University. Then I quit business, and I am free loader now. Just helping the business this and that." He lied about his position, didn't want him to give the hints saying that he is CEO of Jeon. 

"Ahh. Is that so?," he looked at his son, "Taeguk. Full? Wanna go home? Don't you like this new friend?", he pointed Dia's son. The kid shook his head,"No. Ah pa. He is mean to me. We are in the same class.", the kid said.

Jungkook felt bad, even his cousin was no good for his son. He looked at his cousin, " Ya! Denial. You must treat your friends properly. Didn't Dia teach you to be kind to others?" he scolded the kid. The kid turned red and started to cry.
Taehyung astonished his scolding and slapped his shoulder, "Ya. He is still the baby. What will he know? Aigooo. Don't cry. Come to this uncle." Taehyung soothed the baby and when Denial cried, his son, Kim Taeghuk, cried also. Now Taehyung was busy patting the two babies on his lap. Jungkook felt small and head down when the other customers checked upon them. He also wanted to cry on his lap now. As if Taehyung knew his thought, he laughed at Jungkook, "What. Do you wanna cry too? But my lap is full now." he teased him. Taehyung was more active and talkative than he was in 29.

Their meeting was end for today. They promised each other to see the next time. Jungkook gladly shared about Taehyung to Dia. "Oh my God. Poor Taehyung. He even had an accident.  But God give you the second chance. This time you better be good. Jung." She remarked. Of course he will.
