song: 'Tek It' by Cafuné

——————————————————————————

"... are you sure? She needs to know."

"Yes. If she knows, she could be at risk. We don't need that. Especially after what she's been through already."

I become conscious, and yet my body was telling me not to move. Not an inch.

"Don't you see? We can't hide her from it. It's a part of her life, whether she likes it or not. Whether we like it or not."

I listen to the pain in Ale's voice, and my interest peaks.

Are they talking about me?

"That may be, but we can protect it from her for just a little longer. Just so she can come home and settle down, okay? We'll tell her after the term is finished."

"You must. Otherwise, it could put her in more danger not knowing than knowing."

Matteo lets out a low snarl as he and Ale argue.

"She's awake." Marco yawns.

I feel the weight of their stares on me, and I pretend to have only just woken up.

I yawn, and I outstretch my arms, fluttering my eyelids open.

"Are we home yet?" I ask groggily.

"Not yet. We'll be there in a few minutes." Matteo says.

I nod as I look down at my lap.

Luca was still passed out, but his mouth was wide open and drool was falling down his chin, coming dangerously close to touching my hoodie.

"One of you pass me your phones, quick."

Matteo hands me his phone, and I take a quick picture of Luca before pushing him off of my lap and onto the floor.

"Ow!"

He's thrown awake, and looks at us all with confusion.

"Where are we? Why am I in a limousine- oh."

He massages the back of his head with his hand, and puts his other on the couch, pulling himself up and back onto the couch.

He stares at us all as his eyes narrow in confusion, before he turns to me with a glare.

"You pushed me off. That seriously hurt, you know. I was quite comfortable."

I shrug. "Well, you were about to drool on my clothes."

He shakes his head as he leans back against the leather seat.

"How much longer until we're home?" He asks.

"As I told Angelina-" Matteo sighs, before he's interrupted when the car comes to a halt.

"Well, that solves that question." Luca grins.

I hear Matteo grumble something under his breath as the door slowly slides open, where Dad was standing, a wide smile on his face.

"What are you so happy about?" I ask, turning to Luca, but he looked just as confused as I was.
