It was a week before summer ended. Mai, with her dark hair cascading down her shoulders and her black eyes glistening with expectation, was wide awake. She had been eagerly awaiting her letter from Hogwarts since the moment she turned eleven. Her father, Dai Minatozaki, had enchanted her childhood with stories of his days at the famed school, and now, it was her turn to embark on her own magical journey.
Her twin brothers, Sai and Kai, three years her seniors, had chosen different paths. Sai was a student at Beauxbatons, the epitome of elegance and poise located in the alps of france, while Kai attended Durmstrang, embodying strength and determination. They had their own tall tales of magical adventures, but today was about Mai.
"Are you sure it's coming today?" Sai teased, a smirk playing on his lips as he leaned against the doorframe of Mai's room. His posture was perfect, his demeanor calm and confident, a reflection of his Beauxbatons training.
"Maybe you're a squib," Kai added, his tone light but mischievous. He was more robust, a perfect fit for Durmstrang, with an air of activism and passion about him. "Imagine that!"
Mai's heart clenched at the teasing. "I am not a squib!" she retorted, her voice trembling with both determination and worry. The teasing cut deeper than she let on, and soon, a small scuffle broke out. Pillows were thrown, and harsh words were exchanged.
"Take that back!" Mai shouted, throwing a pillow at Kai, who dodged it easily.
"Make me," Kai replied, laughing as he tossed a pillow back at her.
Sai, trying to keep his composure, couldn't resist joining in. "Oh, come on, Mai, we're just having fun," he said, ducking as Mai hurled another pillow.
"You guys are the worst!" Mai yelled, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes. She lunged at Kai, tackling him to the ground. The two of them rolled around, wrestling and laughing.
"Alright, that's enough," came a firm but kind voice. Irene Minatozaki, their mother, entered the room gracefully, her presence instantly calming the chaos. "Mai, come here."
Mai scrambled from without forgetting to "accidently" kick kai which lead to an ow from him, she approached her mother, who held an envelope in her hands. With a knowing smile, Irene handed it to her daughter. "Congratulations, darling."
Mai's hands shook as she opened the letter, her heart pounding. The Hogwarts crest gleamed up at her, and she felt a surge of relief and excitement.
"We got our letters too," Kai said, holding up his own parchment, which included his supply list and report card.
"We're all set for another term," Sai added, his smile now genuine as he shared in Mai's joy.
The family gathered in the grand living room, waiting for Dai to return from his errands. When he finally stepped through the door, his face lit up at the sight of Mai holding her Hogwarts letter.
"My little girl is going to Hogwarts!" Dai exclaimed, sweeping Mai into a hug. "You're going to love it there. It was the happiest time of my youth. You'll make unforgettable memories and connections, just like I did."
Irene joined them, a playful glint in her eye. "And who knows, you might even fall in love and meet the love of your life."
Mai blushed, and her brothers seized the opportunity to tease her once more. "Oh, she's already planning her wedding," Sai joked.
"To some mysterious Hogwarts boy," Kai added, winking.
Mai rolled her eyes but couldn't help but laugh. As she smacked them rather harshly leading to another scuffle leading to laughter and the shouts of intervention from the parents

Meanwhile, at the Burrow, Fred Weasley sneezed loudly, startling everyone around him. "What was that for?" George asked, looking amused.
"No idea," Fred replied, rubbing his nose. "Must be someone talking about me."
