Ezra Bridger: A Jedi Knight, former con artist and Sabine's boyfriend who is tasked by the Rebel Alliance to investigate the Empire's knowledge into the Unknown Regions. Indiana Jones and Commander Shepard were big inspirations for his appearance. Ezra will also be brought closer to his portrayal by Eman Esfandi in the Ahsoka series.

Sabine Wren: A Force-sensitive Mandalorian warrior, graffiti artist, demolitions expert and Ezra's girlfriend who has begun training as a Jedi. She had ultimately returned to Mandalore to free her father from Imperial captivity between the events of The Jedi and the Mandalorian and Empire At War. Tali'Zorah was used as an inspiration for her appearance. Sabine will also be brought closer to her portrayal by Natasha Liu Bordizzo in the Ahsoka series.

Tristan Wren: A Mandalorian from Clan Wren, and Sabine's younger brother. Joining the crew on the Gauntlet serves as "making up lost time" for him due to being separated from Sabine during The Jedi and the Mandalorian.

Zare Leonis: A Rebel agent and former Imperial cadet who infiltrated the Imperial Academy on Lothal to find his long-lost sister, where he ultimately met and befriended Ezra.

Jai Kell: A Rebel agent from Lothal's rebel cell and a former Imperial Cadet who deserted after meeting Bridger and Leonis.

Ruby Rose: A huntress from Remnant, former leader of Team RWBY, and Yang's half-sister. Empire At War will continue Ruby's story arc established in The Jedi and Mandalorian, as she and her sister find themselves conflicted over her choice of siding with the Rebellion.

Yang Xiao-Long: A huntress from Remnant, former member of Team RWBY, and Ruby's older half-sister. Empire At War will continue Yang's story arc established in The Jedi and Mandalorian, as she and her sister find themselves conflicted over her choice of siding with the Rebellion.

Nebula Violette: A former huntress and leader of Team NDGO whom Ezra and Sabine befriended while on Remnant before defecting to the Rebel Alliance following the Battle of Vale. Jack from the Mass Effect series was a huge influence on her character. Nebula generally acts as a foil to Ruby and Yang, as she embraces the lifestyle and dangers of the galaxy.

Ketsu Onyo: A Mandalorian bounty hunter and a friend of Sabine, who helped her escape the Imperial Academy. Ketsu feels obligated to help Ezra on his mission, both out of respect for him and her loyalty to Sabine respectively.

R4-K1 "Kay": An R4 series astromech droid with an R2 unit head that serves on Ezra's ship, the Gauntlet. She serves as a replacement to Chopper.

Cassian Andor: A captain in Rebel Alliance Intelligence responsible for Ezra's suspension from the Rebellion, putting them at odds with one another.

Kanan Jarrus: A Jedi Knight and Ezra's Jedi Master who survived Order 66.

Hera Syndulla: A Twi'ek pilot and General in the Rebel Alliance, who serves as mother figure to Ezra and Sabine

Ozpin: The Headmaster of Beacon Academy and an ally of Ezra and Sabine. He is something of a man "seeking penance" following the events of The Jedi and the Mandalorian.

James Ironwood: The former Headmaster and General of the Atlas Military, who was imprisoned by the Rebel Alliance at the end of The Jedi and the Mandalorian. His character is inspired by James Norrington from Pirates of the Caribbean, being man who would do anything to get his life back.

Grand Admiral Thrawn: A high ranking Chiss admiral in the Imperial Navy, commander of the Seventh Fleet, and master tactician, who is tasked with snuffing out the Rebel Alliance following the destruction of Phoenix Squadron.

Gilad Pellaeoan: Thrawn's second-in-command in the Seventh Fleet, and a well-respected Imperial officer.

Arihnda Pryce: The Imperial Governor of Lothal, who works with Thrawn to undermine the growing Rebellion.

Rukh: A Noghri assassin, who serves as Thrawn's bodyguard.

Marrok: An unidentified Imperial Inquisitor under Thrawn's command.

Enoch: The commanding Stormtrooper officer in Thrawn's forces. He is comparable to the "strong man" character in the Indiana Jones films.

Cinder Fall: A mysterious warrior from Remnant, who seeks revenge on Ezra following the events of The Jedi and the Mandalorian.
