When I got to the venue for the wedding, I had to explain why I was late. There was no way I was going to tell them about Sawyer, so I told them I was stuck in traffic. The obvious complaint was why didn't I call/text them to let them know, but once we had wasted enough time on that, the pictures began.
I was trying to focus, I really was, but I couldn't get Sawyer out of my mind. At one point even the bride, my friend Alyssa, came over to see why I was so distracted.
"Sophie, Sophie? SOPHIE!" She yelled into my ear. "Oh uh sorry Lyss." I replied, straightening up and pulling my camera in front of my face. "Girl, whatcha thinking about. You've been distracted all day." She tapped my head. "You got a boy in that pretty little head of yours?" I blushed, which was a dead giveaway that she was right. "Ooh you do!" She squealed and I couldn't help but smile. "Spill."
I told her the story from the beginning and when I looked over at her, she was smiling. "Honey, you got it bad." She laughed. "Ugh I can't help it!" I whined. "Hahaha maybe you should just take a break Soph." She laughed. "No I'm good." I answered and got back to work. I don't know why I was so into him though, I just met him for crying out loud.
Maybe I liked him because of the way that we clicked. Maybe it was because as I awkward as I was he still took the time to get to know me. Maybe it was how I got so caught up in talking to him that I could ignore the rest of the world. Maybe it was just because he was so. Damn. Cute.
After we were done with the rehearsal pictures, I was waiting for Alyssa, I was going to drop her off at home while her fiancé had the bachelor party. I was staring at my phone trying to decided whether or not to text Sawyer. I heard footsteps behind me and when I turned around the groom, Alex, was standing there smiling and shaking his head. "What!?" I asked. "Just text him Soph!!" He laughed as my mouth dropped.
"She told you!?!" "Of course she told me Sophie!" He smiled and I groaned. Alex put his fist under his chin and grinned like a little kid. "Tell me about him." "Well he's a junior and he's really smart and cute and nerdy and funny and ahhhhhhhh." I gave him a big grin. He shook his head at me and laughed. "Well someone hasn't been out in a while." I stuck my tongue out at him.
Alex turned around and said good bye to someone and I suddenly got really shy. I bit my lip and looked at the floor. "Should I really text him?" I glanced up at Alex. "Yes, you should! You didn't give him your number right?" I nodded. "So maybe he's dying to talk to you, but he can't. Maybe he's waiting for you to text him." He wiggled my phone in front of my face. "Alright, I gotta go. See ya later Soph." I looked down at my phone. What's the worst that could happen?
