Changbin had been picking up jisung for the all week. It was morning and jisung got into the car.
"Morning, lixxie and changbin hyung" Jisung greeted, his voice still tinged with sleep.
"Morning, Ji," felix and Changbin replied in unian.
"Got my candys?"changbin
"Were" jisung rolled his eyes and gave him a bag of candy
"sweet." Changbin responded with a grin. "ok let 's go".
With that, Changbin started the car, and they began to drive to their college.
As they arrived at college, Jisung got out of the car, thanking Changbin for the ride before heading to his class.
Walking down the hall, Minho spotted Jisung struggling to take his books out of his locker, his injured hand making the task difficult. Minho's instinct was to go and help, but he knew that Jisung would likely reject his assistance. He tried to walk away, but then he saw Jisung's books fall to the ground.
Minho couldn't hold back any longer. He started to go towards Jisung, only to stop abruptly as another guy bent down to help Jisung pick up his books, and offered a hand to help him up.
Minho watched as Jisung accepted the gesture, and bowed in gratitude. MInho watched him smile so sweetly, and watched him laugh at something the guy said. But as the stranger pulled out his phone and handed it to Jisung, a sinking feeling settled in the pit of Minho's stomach.
Minho sighs and turns away and continues down the hall, "why am I feeling like this? weren't even friends" me thought as he sat down in class and looked out of the window, with a strange feeling in his heart.
As the lunch hour approached, Jisung entered the cafeteria, walking alongside the guy from earlier.
"Who is that with Jisung?" Hyunjin asked, curiosity evident in his voice.
"I don't know, never seen him before," Changbin replied, his brow furrowing in thought.
"I think he's in my singing classes," Chan chimed in, recognition dawning on his face.
"I don't know who he is, but... damn, he is hot. Jisung is a lucky man," Jeongin commented, his remark causing Minho to choke on his food and the others to turn their attention to him.
As Jisung approached their table, he introduced the newcomer with a smile. "Hi guys, this is San hyung.".
"Hi San, you're in the third year of the vocal major, right?" Chan inquired, extending a hand in greeting.
"Oh yeah, we're in the same class," San confirmed, returning the handshake. "I have to get going now, bye everyone and see you later Sunji" he said, bowing politely to the group before turning to Jisung with a sweet smile.
"Bye, Sannie hyung, see you latter" Jisung waved, watching San's departure before taking a seat at the table.
"Do you want to tell us something, Sunji?" Felix teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Finally, Jisung found himself a man, I was starting to think you would die alone" Changbin chimed in, his laughter echoing around the table.
Jeongin's eyes widened in shock. "What? You've never dated before? How? You're so cute and funny?" he exclaimed, genuine surprise coloring his tone.
"Well, I'm single not because I can't find someone. I'm single by choice," Jisung explained calmly. "I don't want to end up hurt. I've already had my heart broken once, and I don't want to go through that again. So, I just don't date."
Felix raised an eyebrow, his curiosity evident. "But how do you know it will end badly this time?"
Jisung sighed, his gaze drifting to the table. "Not everyone has the luck to find good guys like you. Literally, you are perfect for each other. I'm just not made for love. Some people are like that, and that's okay. love its not for everyone."
"But what about San?"
Jisung's lips curved into a smile. "Well, we met today because he helped me pick up my books that I dropped."
"That's sweet, like a rom-com," Hyunjin remarked with a chuckle.
Jisung nodded, as he recalled the encounter. "Yeah, but this is real life Jinny. As he helped me, he saw one of my books and mentioned that his boyfriend loved that book, and his birthday was coming up soon. He asked for book recomendations because we have similar tastes." jisung smiled fondly "It's so sweet, the way you can see in his eyes how much he loves his boyfriend. The entire time we were together, he talked about his boyfriend, and every time his eyes shined so brightly"
"Oh, that's so sweet," Felix remarked, his eyes softening with empathy.
"I know, right?" Jisung replied, his smile.
Despite his declaration of being single by choice, secretly jisung desires for a love like the one he witnessed among his friends, a love like the one in books and movies.
He craved a partner who would stand by him through everything, who would embrace his flaws and imperfections. Someone who would be his confidant, his ally, his number one fan, a light in his darkness.
But Jisung knew that, the flame of love that burned so fiercely, sometimes, it would hurt you and burn you so badly that all that's left behind is nothing but ashes and pain. Leaving you with the ache and memories of what, once was.
