"There. You have it. Now get lost."
The look on the piano player's face hurt more than Bodie would admit. He could see the pain of confusion darken those gray eyes and a pinch of nausea had him swallowing back an apology. As the piano player turned away, he wondered who was suffering more.
Bodie finished his drink and tipped the bartender. Voices in his head shouted at him to take one last look at the beautiful man who dared to knock on the walls around his heart. He tried to ignore them but failed miserably. The dance floor was overcrowded, people pressed together shoulder to shoulder. Yet he found the musician in a single heartbeat.
Bodie watched as his piano player was swept away by the undulating wave of people. A few times he lost sight of him. It was like trying to keep track of a drowning man in a stormy sea. When he finally laid eyes on him again, jealousy raged inside his heart as he watched two women manhandle the poor musician.
Without thinking, he began pushing his way through the crowd. He expertly wove in between each scantily dressed woman and shoved away any man trying to start a fight with him with an experienced hand. He was a relentless force no one could stop until he reached his target.
When his arms circled the piano player's body, the world around him quieted. It was like those scenes in a romantic movie where everything in the background blurred, the only thing he could see clearly was the man standing in front of him.
"Only what you're comfortable with," he said.
Bodie noticed his drunk musician's body become more limp and tightened his hold. He needed to keep him close so the beautiful man would not get swept back up into the crowd. His siren was a lamb in a den of wolves. And he was unwilling to lose what he had wanted all night and now held in his arms.
When the song shifted into something faster paced, Bodie continued his slow and steady movements. He guided the drunken man through the crowd, protecting him every time they were jostled. Their bodies were so close he could feel the rise and fall of the musician's chest. The man's scent was so enticing Bodie dared to take a deep breath.
"Ni shi wo di," the piano player murmured.
When he realized what he said, he panicked and tried to wriggle out of Bodie's grasp. It was a futile attempt. Now that he had the tempting angel in his arms, there was no way in hell Bodie was going to let him go.
In order to keep them both upright, Bodie slipped one of his legs between the piano player's. The whimper that reached his ears sent a current of desire through his veins. The man giggled and wrapped his arms around Bodie's neck. The situation was quickly becoming something less innocent than he had intended.
"I'm Zayne."
"Bodie."
The musician's tongue slipped between his soft lips, capturing Bodie's attention. His mouth watered at the sinful act.
"Don't do that," he warned, hoping to discourage the piano player from tempting him again.
Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect. Zayne bit his bottom lip again, his two front teeth sinking deep into the soft flesh.
Bodie's cock hardened in his pants. His mind blanked as a feral need burned across his skin. Words spilled from his mouth he knew he'd regret in the morning but there was no stopping them when Zayne looked at him with those provocative eyes of his.
A loud drawn out moan in Bodie's ear sent an uncomfortable heat straight to his already straining member. He tightened his grip around Zayne's hips fully intending to give him a preview of his talent but instead he found himself holding a half-passed out body.
