"Wake up sleepy head" an officer grumbled, stirring Xander awake by kicking his leg.
Xander groaned and sat up gentle since his sides still ached.
"What's the matter? " Xander grunted out, the previous day pain had intensified since there was no treatment to it.
"It's time to go" the Officer grumbled and opened the cell for home to come out. Xander stood up confused but didn't walk the opened bars.
"Why? "
"Someone paid your bail, are coming out or not? " the officer sounded annoyed and Xander complied keeping his questions for later.
He was led to an office, where an older man in expensive suit discussed a police officer that sat behind the desk.
"Here he is, cleared of all charges" the man behind the desk said as he noticed his presence, making the man dressed in expensive suit turn to look at him. The man would in his late 50s.
"I would be taking with me " the older man said and left the office. Wait, was he expected to just follow him, doesn't he have a say or is he getting sold because some old man paid his bail.
The police officer nodded at him to follow the older man and he did.
"Excuse me, did my lawyer send you? " Xander asked, following behind the man. Thankfully, the man didn't walk fast because Xander endured the pain with every movement he made.
"Pfft, the scared pup that ran with his tail between his legs when he got threatened by the Macery family" the old man replied and quickly typed a text to someone before he stepped out of the police station.
"Who are the Dally Family? " Xander asked and the old man tried his best not to appear shocked.
"Don't tell me you don't know the name of your family" The older man replied making Xander realize. Well, it was part of the contract not to ask questions, he only knew the family was rich but not how rich they are.
"I'm Max, and you look like you need treatment" Max introduced and open the door of an ambulance that was parked in front of the police station. "No, questions just climb in, I would explain when you are better"
Xander wasn't sure who this Max was or if he could trust, all he knew was that he needed to get treated. He doesn't have money for that and he could bother his old landlord.
It was everything had been arranged before he arrived in the hospital. As soon as the ambulance stopped at a private hospital, a stretcher was arranged at the door. He hesitatedly lay on it. Soon he was in the a ward and a doctor started attending to him.
Normally he would had had to wait for his turn in a clinic, now he felt strange to be in a ward that doesn't smell like cleaning agent. The ward was large and was made only for on person. Then it dawned to him that he was in a VIP ward.
"Please, How does this cost? " He asked the doctor bandaging.
"Alot, but I'm sure you afford it" Doctor said with a gentle smile before signaling Max that he was done and he would be back once is IV drip was done.
Max sat on a couch beside him reading a magazine. He felt the pain killers kick in and fell into a deep sleep.
He found his self in a dark place, frightened and alone.
"Daddy" a familiar voice eched in the dark"Daddy, where are you"
"I'm here " he responded to the voice but it seemed it can't here him.
"Daddy I can't find you"
"But I'm here, I would find you" Xander said and started moving in the dark even though he could see anything.
"Daddy, you left him me " the voice sounded much stronger now like it had anger.
"You promised you would leave but you left"
"Daddy, you lied, lying is bad and you are a bad dad"
"Daddy, I hate you! " the voice screamed with so much hatred, which was strange for a little girl's voice and strong enough to hurt that he fell.
He felt like he was falling forever. He landed with his face in a familiar sitting room that he lived with his family. He saw a pair of red heels standing in front of him. He looked up at the owner and it was his beloved wife Hermia, smirking at him."I told you before, you are nothing" she said, pressing her heels on his back.
"Nothing, Nothing, Nothing " the continous echoing voice woke up him with a shock.
He gasp for air as he felt like he was having a panic attack and the large room was closing on him.
Once his breathing regulated he said the first word that came to his mind.
"Emily""I'm coming"
Xander pulled out the IV drip from his hand and left the ward. He was just in his pants with bandage wrapped on his upper body. His sides still hurt but as before, he was relieved enough to go back for his daughter.
He took the stairs and avoided running into Max who he hadn't seen since he woke up. He luckily made to exit door of the hospital.
Just as he was about to run, two men grab his arms in a strong hold. He was confused, until to Max stepped from behind him.
"Like father like son " Max said and signaled the men to take him to the car that somehow drove to the front of the hospital without any driver in it.
"Let me go, you can't kidnap me, I need to get to my daughter! " Xander screamed as he fought his way out of the me hold.
"Such accusation" the old man feigned annoyance "Don't fight too much, you would break your arms, those two are ex mafia gang" at that Xander quit struggling and a tear left his eyes.
"And soft like his mother" Max muttered
"I need to get my daughter back from my heartless wife" Xander pleaded as he had rum out of ideas.
"And I'm taking you to your father who is also heartless so sit up and shut up"
