Timber Oneshot

The Coffee Date

Bernard was sitting at a table in a coffee shop, with his knee bouncing and a nervous look on his face. After realizing what he was doing he forces himself to stop. Then the door suddenly bursts open and in rushes Tim. Bernard noticed that his suit was a little wrinkly and that his tie was a little or a lot crooked.

Tim then quickly finds Bernard's eyes and then makes over to the table really quickly. "Hey." He said with enthusiasm and joy in his eyes. "Hey. Long night?" Comes the reply of his date. Tim doesn't want to talk about the latest case in a very public place where anyone can see them. However he wants his friend to know about how Bruce was being even more of a pain than usual.

"Later. You know we can't discuss long nights here." Came his reply. "Yea I know I was just messing with you." Said Bernard with a smile.

Tim then gets up and extends his hand to Bernard so he can get up. "Want to go get some coffee, I mean we are at a coffee shop?" Bernard then takes Tim's hand and gets up on his feet and says, "For me or for you, because I know it your magical elixir that keeps you alive," Tim then laughs.

They then start heading to the counter. Bernard just starts staring at Tim as he orders the most complicated coffee ever. You can't tell me he wouldn't be one of the strictest person with his coffee. Bernard looks at him lovingly until he's done ordering. He then orders himself a drink and takes Tim's hand and drags him back to the table.

They then sit for a few moments waiting on the coffee. They then sit and start a conversation about work. "So how has Wayne Industries been recently." Started off Bernard. Tim then takes a second to sip his coffee then responded. "It's been alright. We should be releasing a new product soon. It will be a device that should make a difference that will hopefully spark some new ideas about how to prevent climate change."

He looked excited about it and that made Bernard smirk at him. Bernard love it when Tim gets like this, he doesn't get to talk about his work a lot. Most people don't understand the science behind it. And it makes Tim excited to talk about the new projects and the science and technology behind them. Bernard then cuts off his boyfriend before he can get into a big rant. "I love you very much and I want to hear all about this project. However I wanna hear about the other thing you have been working on.

Tim then stops and takes a second. Then his eyes light up again and he starts to talk about his other one. "Well I know I've been having a lot of set backs with it but I think I'm finally on the right track." Tim had been trying to make a new bo staff but he had been having a lot of setbacks. They then continued to talk about the two projects until it was time for them to head home so Tim could get ready for patrol.

They both head back to their apartment they share. Tim then starts to head to the bedroom. Bernard stays in the kitchen for a moment before sitting down in the living room. He then waits for Tim to tell him he can come in the bedroom.

While Bernard is waiting in the living room Tim is decompressing before having to put in his other suit. He looks into the place that holds his suit and sighs.

Tim knows he's overthinking things. He and Bernard haven't been dating too long, but he's so scared that he's not gonna come home to him one night. Tim knows he chose this life for a reason. However since he's had Bernard in his life he's so afraid of loosing him.Tim shakes his head to clear his thoughts and takes off his suit and starts to put on his uniform.

He then calls to Bernard that he is done. He then saw him walk into the bedroom. Tim being the awkward guy that he is, awkwardly goes, "Hi." Bernard then gave a small laugh and said hi back.

Bernard then pulls Tim into a hug and says, "Your gonna  be safe tonight right? Well as safe as you can be considering it's Gotham." Tim lightly chuckles and affirms he will. He then pulls Bernard in for a small kiss. Then shoots his grappling hook and shoots off into the night.

Bernard watches till his figure disappears. Then he sits down on the bed and starts to read. Waiting for his boyfriend to come back.
