Taehyung narrowed his eyes at the shadowy figure emerging from the darkness. The tension in the room thickened, pressing down on him like an unbearable weight. The air itself seemed to grow dense, making it hard to breathe.

"Who the hell are you?" Taehyung demanded, his voice low but firm, his gun still trained on Donghyun. His finger twitched slightly, ready to fire if necessary.

From the shadows stepped a tall, lean man with a cold, calculating expression. He moved with an unsettling grace, every step deliberate, his black attire blending seamlessly with the dim light. His presence radiated danger, a predator sizing up its prey.

Taehyung's vision began to blur, his head swimming, but sheer determination kept him on his feet. His legs felt weak, yet he forced himself forward, each step heavier than the last.

He had to see him. His reason for breathing, the one person who kept him going—Kookie. Without Jungkook, Taehyung would have already collapsed. But not now. Not yet.

The room’s atmosphere grew suffocating, as if the very walls were closing in, trapping them all in this dangerous, intimate confrontation.

Kai, the man before him, smirked, his lips twisting into a cruel expression as he observed Taehyung's confusion and anger. There was something chilling in the way he smiled, as if he enjoyed the torment he was causing.

"You still don’t get it, do you, dear Taehyungie?" Kai’s voice dripped with mockery. "Aww... still the same, I see. So naive. But don’t worry,I’ll help you understand. Hello, I’m Kai. You don’t know me, but I know everything about you." His words sliced through the air like knives.

"I can see you’re confused..wondering why I’m here, what I want. Let me give you a little insight to wake up those numb senses of yours."

Taehyung’s eyes narrowed further, his mind racing, trying to grasp the twisted web of information being thrown at him.

Kai chuckled darkly, the sound echoing in the room. "Your uncle...he always acted like he had the upper hand over your family, didn’t he? But he was nothing more than a coward. He couldn’t even handle a boy when my father orchestrated everything, your parents’ deaths, your fake illness. It was all his doing. We planned it down to the last detail."

Taehyung’s fists clenched so hard that his knuckles turned white. The room spun around him, but his anger held him upright, grounding him in this nightmare.

"But then," Kai continued, his smirk widening, "you came to Korea. We planned everything again. But Namjoon....he wasn’t supposed to get involved in that accident planned for YOU!!And your precious boyfriend, Jeon Jungkook..." Kai’s voice became venomous. "That bastard had to play the role of a hero, didn’t he? He killed my father. My only family! Just because of you!! All these happened because of YOU!!"

Taehyung’s heart pounded in his chest, each word like a dagger to his soul. His family—what had they ever done to deserve this? Why was he cursed to lose them at such a young age, when a child needed their parents the most?

His anger burned hotter, but so did the pain. Every revelation tore at his heart, threatening to break him.

His vision swam again, the weight of the truth crashing down on him. He wanted to scream, to cry until there were no more tears left, but he couldn’t. He was frozen, numb. The world around him blurred, slipping away, as if his body could no longer bear the agony.

"W-why… why?" he whispered, his voice barely audible through the thick air, but the eerie silence made his words echo. He looked desperately at Kai, searching for answers, for anything that would make this torment stop.

But Kai only chuckled again, the sound low and poisonous, sending a shiver down Taehyung’s spine. His grip on his gun tightened, blood draining from his knuckles. He wanted to lash out, to demand answers, but his body wouldn’t respond.

Before he could utter another word, his strength left him completely. His body felt weightless, floating as the world spun faster. Everything became a blur, and he could feel himself falling...falling into the darkness.

But then, through the haze, he heard a voice. That voice. The one that had always brought him comfort, that could calm the storm raging inside him. It cuts through the chaos like a beacon of light in the night.

Jungkook.

Jungkook's here! He's safe! Nothing happened to him! He's back! My love is safe! His inner self shouted. He tried to open his eyes but no....not having any strength to fight with the newfound peace in his heart and chaos in his unconscious mind, they just shut down.

In the midst of the turmoil, just before everything went black, Taehyung felt strong arms wrapping around him, pulling him into an embrace.
Familiar, protective, and safe. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, he felt at peace.

As he drifted into unconsciousness, a soft, contented expression settled on his face, making him look serene, almost childlike, as if he were finally free from the weight of the world, resting in the arms of his love.

The world around Taehyung was darkness—silent, cold, and weightless. But in that void, there was warmth. A warmth that cut through the chilling abyss, one that beckoned him to the surface. His body ached, but the arms wrapped around him anchored him, pulling him back to consciousness.

Slowly, Taehyung’s eyelids fluttered open, and the first thing he saw was the face of Jeon Jungkook. His vision was still hazy, but he could make out Jungkook’s large doe eyes filled with worry, his brows knitted together in concern. Jungkook was cradling him in his arms, gently shaking him.

“Tae… Taehyung, wake up, please.” Jungkook’s voice was soft but laced with urgency. His hand caressed Taehyung’s cheek, thumb brushing away the cold sweat that had formed there. “I’m here, baby. I’ve got you.”

“Kook...ie?” Taehyung’s voice was weak, barely a whisper, but it was enough for Jungkook to sigh in relief.

“Yeah, it’s me,” Jungkook murmured, leaning closer so their foreheads were nearly touching. “You scared the hell out of me.”

Taehyung blinked, trying to push through the fog clouding his mind. Memories of Kai, the revelations, the pain—they all flooded back at once, and his body tensed involuntarily.

“Kai...” Taehyung rasped, his hand trembling as he tried to push himself up. “Jungkook, he knows everything. He...he was behind it all... my parents... Namjoon-hyung... you.”

Jungkook gently pressed Taehyung back down, his hands firm but soothing. “Shh, you don’t need to worry about him right now. I’ve got you. I’m not letting anything happen to you.”

“But...” Taehyung’s eyes flickered to the shadowy corner of the room where Kai had stood moments ago. The figure was gone, vanished as if he were nothing but a bad dream.

“I saw him,” Jungkook whispered, his jaw tightening, the softness in his eyes momentarily replaced with a flash of fury. “Everything is fine, baby. For now, you’re all that matters. I'm sorry for taking too much time.”

Taehyung felt tears welling up, but he bit them back, shaking his head weakly. “It’s all my fault... everything. I brought you into this mess... Namjoon-hyung... he wasn’t supposed to—”

Jungkook’s hand moved to cover Taehyung’s mouth gently, silencing his words. “Stop. None of this is your fault. Don’t you dare blame yourself for something that was out of your control.”

Taehyung’s eyes searched Jungkook’s, finding only sincerity and love in his gaze. He wanted to say more, but the lump in his throat made it impossible.

Jungkook leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Taehyung’s forehead, lingering there for a moment. His lips stayed pressed against Taehyung’s skin as he spoke, his voice a hushed whisper. “You’re not alone. You never will be.”

For a moment, the room was still, their breathing the only sound in the air. Taehyung closed his eyes, letting the warmth of Jungkook’s presence soothe the raw pain that still lingered in his chest.
