"Palampur's hills witness my journey, where every step challenges and empowers."

🍃🌙🪞🪷✨📜Palampur, to me, is a place where every sunrise paints the mountains in hues of gold and every sunset casts long shadows over the fields. My home, nestled amidst the tranquil greenery, is a small wooden sanctuary adorned with photographs of my favourite heroes, each clipping a cherished memory. I wear cotton salwar suits, a choice influenced by a past event that keeps us locked indoors, away from the outside world's gaze.
Rajshree, my pillar of strength, has been my guiding light since my father's never been in his senses, drinking all day, strolling around the streets. Rajshree's nurturing presence fills our home with warmth, making every corner resonate with her love and care. In Palampur, amidst the whispering winds and rustling trees, I find peace and a sense of belonging that words struggle to capture.
The morning was cool and serene, a typical day in Palampur. I was sitting on a stone by the river, feeling the gentle breeze against my face and letting my thoughts wander. This place always brought me peace, and today was no different. Just as I closed my eyes to fully absorb the tranquillity, I heard someone calling out.
"Aree sunti ho?"
(Hey, listen.)
I turned around to see Tara running towards me, clutching a newspaper in her hand and huffing and puffing like she'd just run a marathon.
"Why are you running at the speed of Rajdhani express?" I teased, amused at her urgency.
"I woke up in the morning and ran so far for you so that you could see it, Jiya," she replied breathlessly, her eyes shining with excitement.
I rolled my eyes playfully but couldn't help feeling grateful for my friend. Tara always knew how to make my day, even with the smallest gestures. She handed me the newspaper, and I started flipping through it, my heart racing in anticipation.
"You better feel lucky to have me as your friend, because I'm pretty amazing, you know!" she declared proudly. I grinned widely and hugged her tightly, her breath coming out in a whoosh.
"Yes, take my life now," she gasped dramatically, making me laugh. As I searched through the pages, I couldn't find what I was looking for.
"I am not able to find it, where is it?" I asked, a bit impatiently. Tara, still catching her breath and splashing her face with the river water, pointed casually.
"It's on the second last page, in the right corner," With renewed excitement, I turned to the page she mentioned.
"Kab hakikat mein dekh payenge isse?"
(Will I be able to see it in real life?)
I sighed wistfully, staring at the picture of the Taj Mahal. It was my dream to see it in person someday. Tara sat beside me, her tone turning serious.
