You see, the title "The Lady Who Stole the Moon" was very familiar to the children, as their Grandfather used to tell the tale to them. That was the very same thing being written inside the book. "I didn't know Grandfather had a story book," said Xan. "Shush," said Corey, as letters began to form words which formed sentences. Trying to remember the classes Grandfather gave them on Kail, Vera said out loud, "W- Once," "Upon," said Corey, "A time," said Xan, finishing the sentence. "Once upon a time," said Ave. Bloom giggled. "Wun apon a tymme," Neva stroked Bloom's hair and said, "Once upon a time Bloom,"

As they all sat quietly on the cold bare floor, Xan broke the silence. "I still remember how the story goes," he said. "Once upon a time, there was a woman who was blessed by the God of The Underworld giving her the power to wither anything she touched. Her power grew so fearful that the gods killed her because she was a threat to the world. Before her death, she touched the moon and her heart at the same time, and she became the essence of the moon. Ever since then, there have been blackouts of the moon, with it slowly crumbling and the lady was trapped in a limbo where she could die any moment,"

Neva held back a smile. Xan had a memory greater than anyone else's she had ever met, he would remember everything word for word and could remember events exactly how they happened. He was the best at reading out of all of them because he was quick to catch on. If he was in the Royal Academy, he would have achieved great heights. The book continued writing. "Wait," said Xan.

"This says Grandfather's real name, Alexandro Belou. At the back cover, this copy of the book being a gift as a Royal Scholar for his great ad-advancements and views of the world," Neva's face darkened. "This book was made in the 764th year of the CSE," She pointed at the year of the release page. "That was four years before any of us was found," The room went silent. They could hear the creaking of the floorboards, the rats scurrying around, and their heartbeats.

Badump. Badump. Badump. Each of them having the same question, "How did he know who we were?" As they were silent in thought, suddenly a bang came from outside. Gunshots. A familiar noise in the slums with a body appearing a few days later. The criminal world of Kailohm was in the slums and the worse thing was slums were found everywhere, even in the capital. "Pack quickly," said Neva. They packed their things. This had become routine now and they would hide under the bed to hide from whatever gunman was shooting, if he came for them which he never did, but now they knew about the secret room.

The younger ones went in first as Neva and Corey threw clothes and food down to them as they heard footsteps getting closer to their cottage Corey went down to the secret room and Neva pushed the bed back to its place then slid under it and fell into the hole leading into the secret room. With no time to waste they put back the floor boards to make everything quiet and sat in silence in the dark. "The children are in here," said a female voice which sounded too familiar. "Florence!" mumbled Ave, under her breath. She was the one who provided the cottage to Grandfather and the inn owner. Xan covered her mouth while Corey covered Bloom's. "They were just here!" Cried Florence at the sight of no children.

"Send out wanted posters," said a muffled voice but Corey was sure it was a man. "A fresh candle that's still burning," Neva cursed under her breath, remembering the flickering candle she had turned on before the gunshots started. "They haven't been gone for long, search the area," continued the man. As they heard creaking from above the door shut. After a few minutes waiting for when it was safe to talk again. Fortunately, Bloom had fell asleep during the commotion and she was laid onto the soft bed.

As Bloom quietly snored, Neva lit match and turned on candle which was already half burned. She looked at Xen, Corey, Ave, Bloom, and Xen again, and said "We need to escape the capital,"
