The next day in the Encanto, everyone searched for Mirabel.

Julieta and Agustin searched in the forest, and Felix & Dolores searched behind the ruins of Casita.

Meanwhile, Abuela finds a string fabric of Mirabel's dress in the thorn of a branch....

----------------------------------------------------------

Not far away, near a river, sits a crying Mirabel with her knees brought to her face.

After Casita fell, and the magic was gone, Mirabel had lost all her hope of being the best family member of the Madrigals.

She didn't care if her parents scolded her, grounded her till she was 21, or anything - she felt like not even wanting to come home.

Ever.

....

"Mirabel..."

That's the last thing she expected to hear in her life: Her Abuela calling her name in an extremely soft and sad voice.

As it turned out, her Abuela HAD found her.

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt us. I just wanted... to be something I'm not." Mirabel sobbed, in an extremely broken voice.

Alma sat next to her, then stared at the river. Somehow or other, it seemed all too familiar to her.

"I've never been able to come back here..." she said. "This river is where we given our miracle."

"Where Abuelo Pedro...?" Mirabel said quietly.

Alma sighed. "I thought we would have a different life. I thought I would be a different woman..." she mused.

SUDDENLY!

A dark thrum shook the area around them, and almost immediately, the river where they were at was replaced by a dark ominous dimension, that seemed to never end, no matter where they looked.

Alma & Mirabel looked at each other, frightened. What was going on?

They rose to their feet and looked around.

Abuela wonders what is going on, she's not imagining this.

THEN!

A figure appeared in front of them.

It was a tall, thin figure with elf-like pointy ears and black, tendril like hair with rainbow markings around each one. He also had similar eight looking tendrils protruding from his back. He wears a dark violet tight-fitting jumpsuit with a long-sleeved purple sweater. He also wears rusted gold low-heeled shoes. A pair of white masks are located on his hips, and he has frayed black and pink cuffs. His forehead is covered with pink markings with the center marking resembling a heart. He has thick black eye shadow and a white lower face with a single black marked tear under his left eye, as well as three dots going alongside the same eye. he has blue eyes and yellow sclera, and was frowning. His legs also have a similar rainbow pattern to the tendrils coming from his back.

Mirabel stayed behind Alma, as the 2 of them stared at this strange creature before them.

The figure seemed to point at Mirabel, and sent one of his tendrils towards her.

"NO!" Alma shouted suddenly, pushing Mirabel out of the way of the tendril, which struck her instead.

Mirabel looked, and there she saw darkness flowing over her abuela, and consuming her.

"ABUELA!!!!!" Mirabel shouted.

She saw the dark figure stare at her.

All Mirabel could do now was run, and run she did.

she glanced back at the darkness that had taken her abuela.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she carried on running through the darkness......
