Screaming and wailing. Shouting and efforts of protest. All of these terror-filled noises came from next door. I knew that we were going to be next.
It was too late. The door blasted open and then I saw them. My future was what they were carrying in their weapons.
"Leave her alone!"
"Mommy! What's happening."
"Don't worry sweetie. I'll see you in a while, okay?"
"Mommy, w... why is there a piece of metal to your head?
"Sweetie, you'll be fine. Just-"
"MOMMY!"
Breaking free I ran for my mother. Resting her innocent face in my lap. Noticing the gash in her forehead, I quickly covered it with my sleeve. I realized I was only there to hear her last words before she left me. Forever.
"J...Just remember... I... I love...yo-"
Shaking her body, her eyes grew still. Tears running down my face, I shut her delicate eyes. Kissing her forehead, I was yanked away from the only one who I loved. Dearly.
I got thrown into a metal van, remembering only three words:
One word which the guard told me: Leo
One name which my mother told me: Evan Wilkerson
One word which my guts told me: Revenge
