Mystery POV
-----------------

Why me? I swear to the fucking lord I can't even breath without messing up. I guess I'm just used to it. I sat on a old oak tree in the middle of a golden cornfield thinking. I mean, shit happens, I know, but it seems to only ever happen when I'm around.

"Sis, dinner is ready."

I groaned as I looked up to see my least favorite person. Beautifully tanned, golden hazel hair, green eyes, aka the demon of my life. Her name is Jo. The demon herself was named after my mom's old friend, making her "special."

She is my sister, we were suppose to be twins but of course she came one day earlier. I still haven't heard the end of it. She was like a nightmare dressed like a daydream. Amazing how many men she could swoon.

"Listen, dinner is getting cold and I'm not going to make excuses for you this time."

She crossed her fit arms and furrowed her brow as she looked up at me. Her hazel hair was free in the breeze. It danced in the wind as birds chirped mating calls to one another. Her red mini skirt and tight white shirt just made me more angry. I know it is her uniform but it looks so good on her.

I normally just wear some jeans and a old T-shirt to school so I was still in that at the moment. I jumped down from the giant branch where I sit most days and started to walk toward our beloved home.

"Wonder how you will screw this dinner up."

She whispered under her breath and grimaced. I curled my long red hair around my pale finger and sighed.

"Let's just get this over with."

We walked for two minutes in silence through the cornfield. She tried making small talk but I just didn't have the energy to respond. I'm not the most social girl in the world. I smiled weakly and walked into the kitchen through the back door. A short woman with red hair tucked behind her ears sat at the end of the table. Her green eyes glowed as she saw me.

"Amber! Where were you, Jake and I... I mean your father and I were worried sick!"

My father's blue eyes seemed to smile as he looked down on me. His black graying hair was slicked back in a Elvis manner. I laughed at it as Jo and I took a seat.

"So, how was today Jo? Book club going well?"

"Of course daddy! So many people are joining! Right now we are reading this book about a supernatural camp..."

I started to daydream as my sister went on and on about her day. I never really appreciated what I had. I wish I knew what was coming when it did.

We finished up dinner mostly with Jo describing the book she was reading. I have to admit, she made that shit sound pretty good.

"Amber, will you help clean up dear?"

I nodded silently and smiled. This was a job I hated but I did it to make sure my mom and I could have some alone time. She went through an awkward phase before she met my dad, she still hasn't gotten over it. We washed and dried the rusting and dirty dishes in silence. Every once and a while I would look over to see her smiling to herself. She looked over at me and blushed.

"Just daydreaming... I get it."

I did get it, I dream way to much. Plus she had a good reason to. Her and dad had been through a lot. So there was plenty to think about. As we finished up drying I started picking up the clean dishes and putting them in their correct cabinets.

"Goodnight Amber, sleep peacefully."

I heard my mom call as I headed up to my room. It was old and broken down but I loved it. I ran to my bed and jumped in not caring that I was still wearing my school clothes. I closed my eyes as I started to snuggle in for my last nap.

Later that night a tornado touched down miles from our old farm. The alarm sirens blared as my family rushed to the basement. Our family gets a lot of tornados since we live in such a flat area.

"Come on people, don't want to die today do we?"

My mother laughed as we all rushed down the steps of the bunker. We closed the bunker doors as we heard the tornado rip through the barn next to our household. I held onto Jo, knowing nothing will ever happen to me if I held her. I felt safety at that moment. Nothing felt wrong till the winds hit.

I remember the roof of the shelter being torn off and glass breaking. Wind swirled around as Jo and I cowered together in the corner. Then I felt a slight tug on my leg. I remember Jo screaming as I held onto her for dear life as the tornado started to suck us up.

"SHIT!"

I screamed as I woke up from the horrible narration of the nightmare.

I tried to calm my breathing as I remembered it was just a dream. I closed my eyes and squeezed them tight till I saw stars. Then, I opened my eyes feeling a sensation I had never felt before. I looked around and saw a dark room with dark red bricks covering the walls. The floor seemed gushy and seemed to go up and down. Somewhat like what a heart would do. I looked up and saw nothing but more of the same gushy flooring.

"Hello?"

No answer. As my eyes adjusted I saw a black door and a tiny sink in the corner of the room. I went up to the mirror and brushed off some dust covering my image.

"WHAT THE HELL!"

I screamed and backed up. I started breathing hard. My heart rate picked up as I noticed other details in the room. Skull sketches in the wall. Dried blood covering the floor under the slab of wood which was were I woke from my slumber. I banged in the wall.

"Let me OUT!"

I looked back towards the mirror and came face to face with the monstrous girl before me. A girl who looked like me but with black eyes and tiny horns. I touched the mirror and the girl on the other side mimicked me.

That is when I realized the girl was me. That was also the moment I realized that the dream I had wasn't a dream. It was how I died.
