how to grow herbs in water

1. take 6 - 8 inch long cuttings. clip the stems below a set of leaf buds as this is where the new roots will grow. remove the leaves from the bottom of the stem. any leaves in water will rot.

2. fill jars or containers with water. if your using chlorinated water, let it sit for 24 hours so the chlorine to evaporate.

3. place the herbs in the water filled jars/containers. usually 4-5 stems in a jar. place in a sunny windowsill.

change the water once or twice a week. new growth will show once the roots grow. flowers will appear at the top of the stems. when it blooms it slows down the growth of leaves. you can can clip off the flowers.
