Average Morning for An Expecting Kaiju

Dawn comes to Monster Island with the rays of the sun striking the beaches and any part of the island not hidden by mountains. As it does, these rays begin to strike many of the resting monsters and caves they sleep in should they face towards the east.

In one of these caves, the sunlight hits one of the two occupants - both resting in a massive nest of brush and rocks - who blinks the sleep away with the light revealing his dark green scales which look to glisten a bit. The reptilian kaiju shakes his head a bit with his purple colored jagged dorsal plates seemingly reflecting the sunlight off them. At least, it appears that way thanks to how their color being far more prominent during the day.

Waking up fully, Godzilla lifts his tail up a bit to stretch it before he goes off to hunt due to it being a couple of weeks since he last did so. Normally he would prefer going after human cities which use nuclear or plasma energy for power, but those were often guarded and not viable for the type of hunting he had in mind.

After all, that only fueled him up and not his mate.

He feels something nuzzle against his neck which makes Godzilla turn his head to see his mate sleeping calmly next to him. The kaiju is the stout, brown reptilian kaiju akin to an ankylosaur with him seeing their head with a snout horn and a crown of horns at the back of their head. Seeing them sleep with their back carapace lined with many spikes lifting a tiny bit from just breathing, the king of the monster smiles before turning back to the cave entrance.

It surprised him when Anguirus approached him during the mating season to offer himself, but the king of the monsters was glad he did. For many years before then, he has just ignored the season and focused more on just about anything else especially when raising his now adult son. Helps that several kaiju often came to him to battle and attempt to take his title as a possible means to gain a mate which allowed him to get some stress out.

However, finally able to be with someone and away from all the typcial fights he got into actually made Godzilla realize just how much was missing from his life. Probably helps that Anguirus - his best friend turned mate - had been hiding feeling for him for quite some time and was genuine in wanting his friend to be happy. So the fact that he was able to give his oldest ally the joy he had been waiting for was...well, pretty exciting to say the least.

All that said, things have gotten a bit complicated and going down memory lane when he needed to hunt isn't helping matters.

Godzilla lifts his head up as the first step to getting up...and instantly feels Anguirus moving and placing his lower jaw on his neck. With some surprising strength, the fierce dragon forces the atomic monster's head back down as he keeps his head on his neck.

Blinking and rolling his eyes, the amphibious reptile tries to move his head up only for the giant ankylosaur to remain in place. Growling lightly, Godzilla speaks up as he quietly says, "Please get off, Angi."

"No," Anguirus says though it instantly transitions into a yawn.

Godzilla rolls his eyes again before stating, "Angi, you need food."

"I don't need food," Anguirus mutters, letting out a soft hum while his eyes are closed. A light noise akin to a soft rumble comes to both kaiju's ears with the source being from Anguirus' own body. As if it disagrees with his statement.

"Shut up, cubs," the fierce dragon states softly, snuggling up close to his mate.

However, Godzilla sighs loudly before moving neck to his right to get the other kaiju's head off him making his head drop to the nest and a whine to come out. Moving a bit as he pushes his chest up by his arms, the king of the monsters grabs his mate's shoulder and gently pushes on his shoulder.
