Noah sat nervously in his first biology lecture, clutching his notebook tightly. The large lecture hall was filled with students, most of whom seemed to know each other already.
He chose a seat near the back, hoping to blend in and avoid drawing attention to himself. The professor entered and began the lecture, his voice droning on about cellular structures.
Noah tried to focus, but his mind kept wandering to the events of the previous day.
Meeting the top alphas of the college had been overwhelming, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that his life was about to change in unexpected ways.“Hey, you’re Noah, right?” a voice whispered beside him.Noah turned to see Ethan Stone sitting next to him, a friendly smile on his face.
Ethan’s presence was both calming and intimidating; his reputation as a brilliant student preceded him
.“Y-yes, that’s me,” Noah stammered.“Nice to see you again. Mind if I sit here?” Ethan asked, even though he was already seated.
“Of course not,” Noah replied, feeling a bit more at ease.As the lecture continued, Noah found himself genuinely interested in the topic. Ethan occasionally leaned over to explain complex concepts, his explanations clear and concise.
Noah appreciated Ethan’s patience and willingness to help.A Shared Study SessionAfter class, Ethan suggested they study together in the library. Noah hesitated but agreed, knowing he could use the help.
They found a quiet corner and spread out their materials.Ethan was meticulous in his study habits, organizing notes and diagrams with precision.
Noah admired his dedication and felt motivated to improve his own study techniques. As they worked, Ethan shared stories about his experiences at Northwood, making Noah feel more connected to the school.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it soon,” Ethan reassured him. “You’re doing great for your first day.”
“Thanks, Ethan. I really appreciate your help,” Noah said, feeling more confident.Ethan smiled warmly.
“Anytime, Noah. That’s what friends are for.”
"Friends! " asked Noah. "Yup, Friends"
"Are we friends Noah? " Asked Ethan"Ye.. Yess! "
"Haha 😄 okey bye " Said Ethan
"Yes Bye " (Damn why did I stutter🥲)Jack’s Protective Instinct
Later that day, Noah decided to explore the campus some more. As he walked through the courtyard, he noticed a group of betas snickering and pointing in his direction.
Feeling uneasy, he tried to ignore them and continued on his way.
“Hey, omega! Lost your way?” one of the betas called out mockingly.
Noah felt a knot of anxiety form in his stomach. He quickened his pace, hoping to avoid a confrontation. Just as the betas started to approach him, a familiar figure appeared
.Jack Morgan stepped between Noah and the betas, his eyes cold and challenging.
“Got a problem?” he asked, his voice low and menacing. The betas immediately backed off, recognizing Jack’s reputation.
“No problem, Jack. We were just joking around,” one of them muttered before they all scurried away.
Jack turned to Noah, his expression softening.
“You okay?”Noah nodded, trying to steady his breathing.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Thank you, Jack.”
“Don’t let them get to you,” Jack said, his tone gentle but firm.“If anyone gives you trouble, you come to me, got it?”Noah nodded again, feeling a mix of gratitude and confusion.
Jack’s protective nature was unexpected, but comforting. “I will. Thanks, Jack.”Jack gave a small smile.“Good. Now, where were you headed?”
“I was just exploring the campus,” Noah replied.“Mind if I join you? I could show you some cool spots,” Jack offered.“I’d like that,” Noah said, feeling a sense of relief.Exploring theCampus with JackAs they walked, Jack pointed out various places on campus, sharing stories and giving Noah a glimpse into his world. Despite his tough exterior, Jack was surprisingly kind and thoughtful, making Noah feel at ease.
They ended up at a secluded garden behind the science building, a peaceful spot that few students knew about. Jack leaned against a tree, watching as Noah took in the serene surroundings.“This place is beautiful,” Noah said, his voice filled with wonder.“It’s my favorite spot,” Jack admitted. “Whenever I need to think, I come here.”Noah smiled, feeling a deepening connection with Jack.
“Thank you for sharing it with me.”Jack shrugged, but there was a softness in his eyes.
“Anytime, Noah. You’re a good guy. Don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise.”As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the garden, Noah felt a sense of belonging he hadn’t experienced before. His interactions with Ethan and Jack had shown him different sides of life at Northwood, and he was starting to believe that maybe, just maybe, he could find his place here.
