From Feuds to Flames

Chapter 1

AADYA

The moment I came back from my college and I just knew something was off. I was lucky enough to get into a college in my state only so I stay with my family while my best friends Mishti and Rudra whom I've known since we were babies went to London for their degrees.

Rudra and Mishti were twins and we all were the same age and hence were in the same batch and did our schooling together so it was hard for me to watch them go to London 4 months ago. Even I wanted to go with them I could not get into the programme I wanted so here I am, still happy though. I just miss them sometimes.

I entered the living room and was greeted by my mom who looked at me with a weird expression and my mind went 'see I knew something was off '

I asked her "ma, what's wrong?" She replied "nothing's wrong why would you say that? Anyways leave it listen to me, you remember you also applied for the university in london?" I just nodded and waited to see where this conversation was going.

Mom continued "yeah so, we just received a mail stating that a student could not attend the university due to some personal reasons so a spot was vacant and you were the one that was selected from the waitlist so....congratulations! You are going to join your friends as that spot is yours....of course if you still want to take it but we have to give confirmation to them today"

My mind just went blank. I kept staring at my mother and then the realisation hit me and I screamed and squealed and started jumping.

I was so so happy not only because I get to be with my friends, that was an added bonus but I get to attend the program of my choice at the university of my choice which was my first preference.

I was elated with this news but then I wondered and said "but how can I just leave in the middle of the semester?" Mom said "you will join after the university begins with their second semester and by that time your first sem here will be done so it's win-win."

Hearing this I was so happy and I told my mom I will mail them informing that I accept the position and will join them.

I went to my room, mailed them my response and the first thing I did after that was video calling Mishti,hoping rudra will also be with her only at this time according to the timezone there.

Mishti answered the call and was greeted by my screeming and jumping.

Mishti said " kya ho gaya? theek toh hai? why are you screaming and why are you jumping? what is wrong? what happened?"

At the same time rudra came into view saying "who is screaming?"

She said " aur kaun hoga apni aadu hi hai ek pagal baaki hum sab toh normal hi hai" at this rudra laughed while nodding his head like the idiot he is.

This made me come back to earth and I stopped jumping and screamed "I am joining you guys next semester I just received the mail there was some spot...."(I explained them the whole deal)

With the story being told it was now their turn to start screaming and jumping around like maniacs.

'Aur ye dono bhai behen bolte hai mai pagal hu'

Just when they were screaming came a third voice that sent chills down my body even through the phone.
